It's true, but I thought Butler has been better than Sekera since he got over some initial humps from when he came back from injury, aside from the bad game that led to a benching. I think he fits the Sabres system significantely better than Sekera does......and I don't think you change the lineup after a win.
I'm not arguing anything other than I wouldn't make any claims based on last nights game. If thats not what you're doing then no worries.
Because Connolly's a goal scorer? I thought it was somewhat fitting that on a play where Neale was oohing and ahhing about how the defenseman was still looking for his jockstrap, Connolly was still looking for a decent look on goal. If he had instincts, he could score 40 a year.
Another bad: the application of the instigator rule. I don't have a problem with it existing, but when you hit someone on the late side and his head hits the board, in my mind you at least asked for the fight. Call the penalty and the instigator, fine. Giving Tampa Bay a power play and a full period of Buffalo with 4 defensemen was absurd.
Actually, the refs were flat out terrible both ways.
especially given the fact Rivet let up during the fight...He could have nailed his opponent when he was down and he let up...He did not need a 10 minute cool down period.
