Amazing! Great to see he's practicing with the club. Hopefully he'll be good to return vs the Senators, but no rush. 11-4-0 without him, currently on a six game win streak, there's no rush to put Cammalleri back in to the line up.

What would've happened to the water bottle if Cammalleri wasn't practicing with the team?

Can Cammy grow a beard?????????

I've never seein him wearing one

I don't think he can, because he is always clean shaven, even during the playoffs
However, he should be able to grow one, because of his italian-jewish background

Maybe the beard abilities of being Jewish and Italian cancel each other out

So who do you scratch to play both Bergeron AND Cammalleri? Pyatt and who? You can't really scratch Darche can you? Lapierre? Don't think so ..

Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Cammalleri
Pouliot - Gomez - Gionta
Kostitsyn - Moore - Moen
Lapierre - Metropolit - Bergeron

I personnally really don't like having Bergeron back in the formation. And I think Lapierre is on a hot seat. It wouldn't surprise me to see him moved and Pyatt stealing his spot. In my mind, Pyatt is a better winger than Lapierre.

I bet Cammy paid the medical staff off to get back in the game since he's afraid of Gionta passing him in goals

not to downplay our overall team play of late, but I think tonight highlighted how different the game would have been with Cammy. All we had to do to win tonight was snipe. AK - fail, Pouliot - close but not good enough, Pleky - never got a chance with the wingers he had, Gionta - not snipe, but WIN!

PP desperately needed Cammy as badly as it needed bergeron (maybe Cammy more, but the Leafs are good at blocking shots from the point)

Pyatt and Darche seem to have been very quiet lately. Pyatt would look good on the 4th line with his hustle. Pleks and Kosty really struggling without Cammy there.I would also like to see Moen and Metro get a game rest.

Wasn't it against Ottawa (Volchenkov) that Cammy got injured? Hope he makes them pay.

Fixed.

You have some of your lefts and rights mixed up. Anyways, Darche has earned his place and we need Bergeron in there. IMO Lapierre has dropped below Pyatt especially since we don't use Lapierre at center anymore. That's my lineup to give us some size.

I can hardly wait for Cammalleri's return. Pyatt is utterly useless on Plekanec's line. Against the Leafs he had no points or +/-, took no shots on goal, made no helpful passes, and did not contribute any useful defensive plays. In addition, he lacks size and toughness. We'll have to invent a new category for him: He's a fifth line left wing, a placebo, a mosquito who doesn't bite. He makes d'Agostini look like Jarome Iginla by comparison.

Having Cammy back vs the Sens is great news!!! I just took a quick peak at the schedules of the Habs,Philly,Boston, and the Sens, and it would seem we have the easier of the schedules, I am just not sure if that is a good thing or not.....

I would agree with you... if we were back in December/January; you are a few months late!

In his last 5 games played, 6’2” 24 years old Lapierre has 24 hits.

24!

On the verge of the playoffs, that’s something I appreciate. A lot.

He brings a unique element to our bottom lines: a combination of speed, right-hand shot, size and a propensity to hit everything that move. If you think that a balanced line-up is more than a theoretical concept, you should (to various degrees!) appreciate Lapierre’s contribution. Imo we can’t afford tiny boy scouts on our 3rd and 4th lines.

Against SJ and Bos, Moen – Moore – Lapierre were borderline great and lately, Darche – Metropolit – Lapierre have been providing a solid 4th line contribution. Counting on a 4th line that can give you 10-12 minutes of defensively responsible hockey per game is very valuable – especially in Habs land where most of our forwards are undersized/are less effective when their TOI > 20 minutes.

That being mentioned, if Martin and that Pearn guy can’t get our PP back on tracks, one of our bottom liners (Moen, Darche, Lapierre, Metropolit, Moore, Sergei K.) will watch a few games from the press box.

Montreal PP

Since Bergeron went down on Feb 4th: 9/54 => 16,7% => would be “good” for 23rd in the league

Since the Olympic break: 5/32 => 15,6% => would be “good” for 28th in the league

Who will it be?

As soon as Cammalleri returns, I expect that Martin will stop giving PP time to Metropolit. On even strength, Metropolit produces at a similar pace than Moen and Lapierre but he is a lot smaller and he hits 4-5 times less.

So if re-inserting Bergeron becomes a necessity (I still hope that Cammalleri alone will be able to provide a spark), Metropolit is on the bubble. Moen, Lapierre and Darche are also vulnerable targets. Moore and Sergei K are, right now (it can change; no mercy for our bottom liners!), safe.

That being mentioned, I can’t wait for Pyatt out and Cammalleri in.

Our "second" line is not the same without him: Cammalleri – Plekanec – A. Kostitsyn

Sportsnet mentioned the same thing:

"Cammalleri cleared to return Monday... But a source told Sportsnet he has been cleared to play by Montreal medical staff and is expected to be in the line-up Monday, when the Canadiens host the Ottawa Senators, a team they're currently tied with for fifth in the East..."

Source: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2010/...habs-health-0/

I don’t know how reliable SN sources are but it’s good to read nonetheless!
