Kovalchuk is producing at a lesser average than his career one.
Averaging the same minutes as he was in Atlanta.

He's still a point per game player and always dangerous. I guess I had a feeling he'd produce a little less considering the defensive system of Lemaire.

I'm not really impressed with Jersey though. I don't know why, but I just don't think they'll have that much success in the POs.

Me too. Just something about them. They're really consistent in their play which is why they are such a good regular season team but they don't feel like a playoff threat.

As usual it will depend on the match-ups. They have owned Pittsburgh this year (6-0). I'd love it if they eliminated the Pens.

I'd rather Metropolit and Darche in, Lapierre and Pyatt out.

I don't expect the Pens to be much of a threat this year. Back to back Game 7 SC Final games (plus the Olympics finals this year), they must already feel fatigued.

Malkin and Crosby haven't put up impressive numbers this year (although Crosby is having a career year for Goal Scoring).

Detroit is in the same position but they might be a little more rested because some players were injured for long stretches throughout the year. They are an aging team though, so very much like Pittsburgh I don't see them going very far.

I wouldn't be surprised to see either team knocked out in the first round.

Well to the guys saying that Kovy hasn't produced will, don''t you think that he deserves some sort of break for the first 5 or so games? He needed to readjust. He has 5 points in the last two games and has been great since the Olympics. He is a PPG in NJ.

Anyways, this should be a great one!

That's under his career average, it's simply a fact. Nobody is saying he's playing poorly.

The guy is a beast and can always be dangerous.

I actually feel the opposite from you guys. Everyone is ready to give the Cup to either Washington or Chicago, maybe Pittsburgh (Crosby Ovechkin rawr rawr rawr). They're right up there in terms of points though. They're not flashy like the other teams, but we know that, as we've seen them play tight all the way to 2 Cups over the past decade. This seems like a perfect New Jersey Devils year.

Kind of hope I'm wrong, I can see them going pretty far this year. I can also see them losing out in the first round, but they've definitely historically been a playoff team. I'd be worried, but I say bring em on if the Habs do play them!

If the Leafs lose and Bruins win, Toronto is officially eliminated from the playoffs. I know we want a Bees lose and a Leaf win but that's a pretty nice consolation

Brodeur always plays great against the Habs but now we have two ex-Devils that want to beat their former team, Gio and Gomer. So, we'll see what happens.

There's no super threat this year to win the cup. Everyone seems to have flaws, so NJ's consistency and all round game could definitely benefit them.

I think Montreal matches up fine with New Jersey. The games this year have all been close. Any series between Montreal-Buffalo, or New Jersey-Montreal will be a pick-em.

Well I meant as of right now, he is at a PPG in NJ. But, you need to give that some leeway because of adjustment.

If he plays in NJ next season, he'd be over a PPG.

So is this going to become the GDT?

I think we'll lose tonight, because the Devils always have our number in Montreal.
