Why wouldn't Richards put Wellman out there more often? He looked like the best Wild player all night long, but he was getting 4th line minutes all night. By my count, he either shot or was in on 4 really solid scoring chances.
Second Blue Jacket goal shouldn't have counted, Umberger bumped into the goalie.
Third Columbus goal was brutal. How do you give Rick Nash a clear-cut one-on-none breakaway from center ice? If you look closely on the replays, it looks like the Minnesota d-men were arguing at the bench as to who should be on the ice.
Why is no one here during the game?
Re: Wellman - he had ten minutes of ice time and wasn't used more due to the lack of even-strength play in the first two periods. It's his first NHL game and Richards doesn't have faith in him for special teams play yet (which is entirely understandable).
