Rangers @ Bruins..

So, the term "must win" games has been used a lot lately, but I think this game is going to be a huge deciding factor in whether or not we make the playoffs.

This game is the must win game of all the "must win" games in this season.

If we lose this game, I can say confidently we'll miss the playoffs.

Right now we're fighting for the #8 spot, I think #7 is out of reach

If we win:

Boston has 11 games left vs our 10, 1 point ahead

It's still possible to pull off the playoffs

If we lose:

Boston will be 5 points ahead. That kind of lead with only 10 games to go, is insurmountable IMO

The rest of the season doesn't look too bad

we have

Islanders x2, winnable games
devils, coinflip
toronto x2, winnable
bolts, winnable
panthers, winnable
sabres, tough game
flyers x2, coinflip

We only have 1 real tough opponent in the remainder of our season

I would be inclined to agree with you that if they win they would have a good chance but I can't. They may have a decent schedule but they've shown absolutely nothing that would make me believe they have a shot to make the playoffs and they've always been known for playing down to their opponents.

I'm saying it's POSSIBLE if they pull a win VS the bruins and impossible if they don't, that's all.

I don't think we have > 50% of making the playoffs

If we can't beat a bruins team without savard, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs anyway.

In this case, I do mean to speak in cliches.

Let's call a spade a spade.

Let's call this game what both teams' fans want to call it right now:

2 teams, who can't get out of their own way, are trying to find out not who will win their way into the playoffs, but who will fail their way out of the playoffs....

...or allow Atlanta to sneak in quickest.

I agree with most of what's been said so far. This team has shown no signs of consistency whatsoever. Not even for 5-game stretches. Even the games they did find a way to score and win, Henrik still had to stand on his head for most of them. At this point, this playoff race is going to be more exciting than any series they'll be playing in the playoffs this year, should they make it. At this point, I'll consider it a big victory for this team if they do make the playoffs, given how bad of a team they've shown they can look like. (Of course, for the future of the organization, it would PROBABLY be best if they lost every game and got the best possible draft pick, but for the players who currently make up this team, this year, making the playoffs is actually quite a feat. Sad, but true.

Oh and for the record, I DID have a feeling the last two years' teams would pull through down the stretch. But this year, I just don't have that belief in them. Sad, but true.

Well this team stinks but I am hoping they can atleast make it to the last game of the year meaning something. For those that say they are dead even if they win I mean come on. They do have to get luck with the game in hand but its not like Boston and Atlanta are very good

Actually I have noticed every team stinks this year for the most part, lol. SJ has lost alot lately. Buffalo and Ottawa have stunk...............the league is so even its not funny
