well I would think Boston going far into the playoffs would be the best thing, Because if they had 2 picks in the top 15. They could trade both of those picks for the top pick in the draft.

Or they could pull what Philly did a few years ago and land, 1 and 2 combo ala a Jeff Carter and Mike Richards.

Either way we still need to win this game for any chance of catching them. How many games in hand they have doesn't change this.

I would rather Boston missed the playoffs than went deep. I don't give a rat's ass who they pick with our pick, never mind their own.

Boston isn't going deep in the playoffs, if they do manage to make it. They can barely score one goal a game.

As long as it doesnt go to overtime, either team winning is fine

TB Wins they go 6 points up on us but Florida would only have one game in hand and 3 points up on us and we play florida Tuesday.

Win against Florida we go 1 point behind them, they have a game in hand. and we go 4 points behind TB.

If Florida wins against TB they go 5 points ahead of us and have a game in hand. TB would be 4 points ahead of us and no games in hand.

So as long as it doesnt go to OT and we beat Florida tuesday, its looking pretty good.

Buffalo is up 1-0 on Carolina and this is the game Carolina has in hand on us, Carolina is 4 points ahead..

Either way, that florida game is huge.

I think if we catch one of the Florida teams, it will be TB. They are hopeless. Going for 5 straight losses tonight lol

This game will be pretty telling. We'll see how our young guns who have been delivering with no significant pressure to win from a team standpoint (only individual pressure to perform) will react to a game that may have some implications moving into the draft.

I actually think it would be better if Florida won tonight, because then if we can beat them We are only 3 points back of them and 2 back of TB, insted of 1 back of them when they have a game in hand and 4 back of Tampa.. I think we can catch Tampa because of there awful goaltending.

go panthers go xD

Buffalo is up 4-1 on Carolina, looks line that game in hand for Carolina will be gone and they and NYI will be 4 points ahead of us, along with Tampa possibly because they are down 3-1 to Florida.

We could have 3 teams at 72/68

Beat Florida on Tues and they sit at 72/69

Let's just hope Florida wins in regulation against Tampa. No overtime. It's 4-2 right now. Hard to pick who you want to win that since we're chasing both teams and only 1 point seperates them.

But yeah this game against the Panthers is big if we're going to catch anyone. If we lose it then we might as well kiss it goodbye. I hope we don't pull another letdown game like we did against the Islanders.

If we can just put some wins together in the next few games that group of teams with 68 points might be within reach.

At least Florida won cleanly. Since one of Tampa or Florida had to win at least they finished it in regulation.

Had this in another thread.

Both Carolina, NYR, and Tampa lost. But Florida won, and Atlanta is currently winning 2-0 over Philly.

So:
7 behind NYR
6 behind Columbus
5 behind Florida(1 less GP)
4 behind Carolina, NYI, Tampa

5. If they tie any of those teams the Leafs lose the tie-breaker (wins) and then they are currently losing the head-to-heads as well.

The Florida game is big.

Actually, the Leafs won head to head against the Bolts. Leafs have 2 wins, Bolts have 2 wins, except that the Bolts won both in OT. So Leafs have 6 points, Bolts have 4. As for the Panthers, right now the Leafs lead the head-to-head games 2-1....so it depends on Tuesday.
