Unless I'm missing your , I believe he is talking about the Calder Cup. The AHL's version of the Stanley Cup.

Refs:

Marouelli #6, Joannette #25

Marouelli is senior. Marouelli is a average skater, Joannette is an above average skater. Joannette is effortless and not fancy in skating with an excellent ability to read the play. Marouelli is a loose caller, Joannette is moderate. Joannette has good game control, Marouelli does not. A little score calling from Joannette, none from Marouelli. Both tend to swallow the whistle in the third. A little home advantage from Joannette, less from Marouelli. Joannette has a high safety rating, Marouelli is lowest in the league. Meier is reluctant for calls generating 5on3's, Joannette will make a second call. Marouelli tends to even up calls for a game, Joannette does not.

Review notes:
Joannette may be a moderate caller, but his games tend to be tight or loose, mainly loose. He is not authoritarian but will not take grief from the coach or players.

Dan "The Coroner" Marouelli

Marc "Dial-a-Level" Joannette #25

I would kinda like to see Phoenix take over the first spot in the west. That would be really nice to see for a franchise that has been terrible for a long time. However, nothing ever goes my way. That said:

5-1 Sharks (Heater hat trick, Boyle, Blake)

4-0 Oilers. Dubby gets his first NHL shutout. Sharks bandwagon officially plows into cement wall, fans go flying off in every direction.

It is 6 GDT in 9 days. Fatigue is setting in.

Sharks win with early GDT's, the fact that there was no thought put into it is equivalent to a giant SLUMPBUST. This game is exactly what we need to break out of our funk. Scoring all around

Sharks 6 - Oil 1

Stauby, Juicy, Patty, Clowey, Heater, Boyler.

Some AHL kid late

I may end up just watching the Phoenix/Dallas game and see how a "team" is supposed to play. Go Yotes.

I use a template so I don't forget categories. It's an Excel workbook with about 10 subsheets where it is easy to skip over one and some of the sheets have more than one characteristic.

And yes, reluctant for 5on3s characterizes Marouelli. I found that stat to be a proxy for whether a ref goes game management mode or if he just calls games straight up. The guys who make calls generating 5on3's pretty well correspond to the guys who call when any infraction is committed that exceeds their standard. Some of them don't have overly strict standards but they do stick to them and don't try and figure if the team is already short or if it is late in the game and the game is close or any other non-infraction excuse they might have for not making a call.

the sharks will have to embarrass Edmonton again, and the funk will be over and we go 5-0 for the last games in march. The guys will step it up tonight and act like the top-tier team that they are, and own the ****** team to get some confidence back.

Sharks-6
Oilers-1

Patty gets 2, Thornton 1, Boyle 1, Seto 2

Whoever gets one for Edmonton, good job buddy.

SNOG Sharks 5-2. To good of a team to slump this long, the Oilers are not a good team and tonight we'll get out of the slump. Goals by Patty, Heater, Clowe, Pavs and Boyle. Penner for them.

Or something like that ... maybe even throw Logan on the first line and keep the second line in tact.

FIX IT!!!
I think I suggested very similar lines to that after the last game.
