I'm glad someone scored. Don't think I could deal with another 0-0 game in regulation.

To Sum up the First Period:

Both team came out skating and wanting to win. Fast paced game at start chances on both ends. Peks with some great saves in the period and kept us within 1. the goal I'm putting on the fail clearance of the zone by hammer. Also the Suspect Refing continues.

It was the textbook post-lockout "stick parallel" hooking penalty...

And Legwand watching Colaiacovo skate by him for the back door pass.

Came out strong. Were working a good cycle at the offensive end of the ice and were outshooting STL 8-2 at one point...

Game changed on the no-call on the slash by Perron that knocked Suter out of the game for most of the rest of the period. Preds started rotating 5 D and the energy level took a bit of a dip...

Franson goes to the box, bringing our D down to 4 and the Blues keep the high backhanded flip by Hamhuis in at the line and work it around for a backdoor PPG for the 1-0 lead...

Bouillon takes a shot right off the tongue of his skate and goes down. Frankie not able to get back up, is now in the locker room, but Suter thankfully returns to keep the Preds at 5 D...

Sullivan with the textbook, stupid hooking call at the end of the period 200' from his net sends the Blues back to the PP and allows them a clean sheet of ice to start the 2nd...

Rinne playing well, but the team has to pick it up in front of him...

O'Reilly has made a couple of passes already that have completely surprised his linemates and lead to nothing and Boyd getting knocked around a little too easy for my liking right now as well which combined is really magnifying the loss of Arnott...

Gotta find some chemistry, find the energy to kill this penalty, and then get back to cycling deep in the STL end of the ice that lead to our success in the first half of the opening frame...

20 down, 40 to go...still a lot of time remaining to turn this around, but we've gotta get on it quickly and not give up any more ground...

I agree, not defending the call at all, the standard drives me nuts...

You know the league has emphasized that dangerous player safety calls like boarding get overlooked in favor of the non-safety stick calls...
