If we're looking for another top draft pick, keep them both around. Honestly though, I don't see where they fit in with Hemsky coming back, one of Hall/Seguin moving in, and hopefully Eberle as well. We have way too many forwards under contract for next year. Hopefully they can be packaged to move up in the draft, or for prospects in the offseason. Their highest value might be at next year's trade deadline though, so it's tough to say when you move them.

There is my point.....the Oilers are not contending next year, why not give these 2 players or at least 1 of them, 1 more year and see if they can build up there trade value.............in all likelihood they are not in the long term plans, but why give them away for pennies on the dollar, or buy them out which affects the cap 2 years from now......they are both young enough to improve on there game and maybe someone will want them, they are both in contract years so in theory will have better years, neither player has hit there prime years yet

If that means letting Eberle ride the bus in the AHL, MPS staying in Sweden, Sequin in the OHL and Nash in NCAA/AHL then so be it.......it would not hurt there development and may very well make them better in the long run.........Hall probably starts in the NHL on Hemsky's wing though

Why? Because it depends on what the Oilers are trying to accomplish for next year.

a) Tank for another top five. then by all means, keep them because from my eye, these two players do not help the team to win. But maybe, pigs fly and another team will want to give up assets to pick up these players next year.

b) Try to compete. if that's the case, then these two players who imo, do not make the team stronger, should not be on the roster.

They're ineffective on the worst team in the league right now, what have they really done to show they will be part of the Oilers winning future?

This thread is sort of like if you went over to the Islanders board and saw a thread that said "Keep Blake Comeau and Jeff Tambellini for next yr". Yeah, they're nice players, but you just have to stop and think if these are really the types of players that will take the team to the next level. I don't really think the team would be even worse if they weren't on it.
