Does this mean no more Stanley Cup Finals cameos for David LeNeveu?

I knew I'd heard this name somewhere in the past.... Maybe Sather still has trouble with modern technology and is only up to this point in history on his VHS tapes....

One of the best AHL goalies out there. Guy can steal games, this was a important signing for HFD

a winning culture in Hartford goes a long way towards prospect development.

Hartford needs to make the playoffs this year. It's a good thing--maybe the best thing for the player development of our younger prospect. Last year--very bad goaltending in the first half sunk the Wolfpack. Good to my mind that the Rangers are not going to let their AHL team flounder again.

I wonder if this signing leads to Sather trading Talbot at some point and using this guy as Hanks backup.

Yeah he's not an NHL goalie because of his size since skilled shooters and pick the net around his ears, but otherwise he is a very good goalie. Had a very successful run in the Tampa farm system.

It's good that HFD gets a lot of depth. There will be prospects making the Rangers team, and having bodies that can fill the void in the farm, or if they aren't ready is an important factor to the health of the organization.

Last year the goaltending made the team unwatchable after Cam was called up until Gov was signed. This won't be an issue this year.

Still hoping they can get DGM back on an AHL deal. Did he sign anywhere else?

2014. Offseason of the goaltender.

I think they've got some depth in the goaltending department now. The days of bringing in Joe Shmo from the beer league to be the 4th goalie in training camp are now over.

Had a meh year in Syracuse this year, but has otherwise been money in the AHL and has put up good numbers on teams with poor defense corps.

Awesome deal for Pack since goaltending was their biggest issue.

Capgeek has him with a 2 year deal.

http://www.capgeek.com/player/107

AHL salaries of 300 k and 325 k in the 2nd year, nice bump up from his 175k salary last season.
