Modin played pretty bad last night. Aside from the obvious, he must have turned the puck over 3 times that lead to good scoring chances. The Kings played the best game since the Olympic break last night so that is a positive. It is a bit of a let down that they gave away an extra point. Man what a blunder that was when Kopitar and Richardson (I think) got all tangled up leaving the zone with the empty net because that could have been the end of the game. Give credit to the Avalanche though, they played pretty well. I was shocked at the shot totals though. Both teams were in the low 20's I believe.

Dont' know if it's been mentioned, but I thought O'Donnell had an OUTSTANDING game.
And Simmer is clearly injured.

Awfull game...............

A real goalie would safe 2 wrap arounds and we should get a loss
to be honest.

But ......... Doughtys shot alone gives us 2 points.

To be honest I thought Brown was awesome last night. He was fiesty as hell which was out of character but awesome to see. His hands do suck but when he plays like he did last night he's definately far from sucking. How could you not enjoy is flopping on every hit?

Terrible isn't a strong enough word for Jones. I would take Harrold over him 1000% of the time.

Come on dude.. Modin gave them one and Randy "I can't skate backwards" Jones help delivered them their second one. The only goal they really earned was the one in the last few seconds of the game. The Kings won that game hands down.

Yes, I will say it was nice to see some aggression and emotion from him. . .

If FSN is replaying the game today (they are today at 2PM on FSN West), then they exercise their local blackout option on national feeds.

...as I am utterly terrified any time Quick tries to play the puck. What, no love for Quick's 1st period TERRIBLE clearing "pass" to the Av player in the circle giving him a wide open 6x4 net? Lucky it went just wide and high.

He did make some huge saves, but his puck handling has got to get better - or just let the D get it behind the net. His puck-playing choices are driving me crazy.

I don't mind him coming out and just stopping it, but he gets caught when there's pressure from both sides (or, hell, more than one opposing player in the zone). I'm sure the staff is trying to get him to practice his reads in game-time situations, but ask anyone that watches a game with me...I'm gonna die 10 years early due to Quick's puckhandling

Can they just come home on Monday and forfeit the game in Nashville? Obviously not being serious here, but not much point in the Kings playing Nashville lately unless they are actually going to show up. I would love to see the Kings make a statement in that game. I'm sick of losing to Nashville.

And yeah the schedule blows, they should have just had the Kings stay out on the road instead of coming home for a game on Saturday. Should have been Saturday in Nashville, Monday in Minnesota, then back to LA.

That's an interesting thought.

Or I guess we could let Eberg, Harrold and 44DD finally get in on a game so they won't be so rusty. Either way, the preds have our number and our number happens to be a big fat zero.

It's been a while since I've posted some tidbits to go with the thoughts, so here's a few:

Kings PP at 20.8% - 6th best.

Kings PK at 82.1% - 15th best (season high) - Since Halpern and Modin have joined the Kings the Kings have allowed only one PP goal (on March 4th in his first game as a King). 0 in 8 games.

28-0-0 when leading after 2. The only other team with a perfect record after 2 is Buffalo at 25-0-0.

2.84 goals per game is 10th best in the league.

23-9-5 in one goal games is 5th best in the league.

2nd most shootout wins in the league (9). Phoenix has 12.

Quick has as many wins as Brodeur and Bryzgalov - 39. Best in the league.

Quick's save percentage is .910. Brodeur's is .914. Bryzgalov's is .921. Quick's save percentage over the last 5 games = .920

Quick's total time on ice? 3,845 minutes, 33 seconds. Highest in the league by 10 seconds over Brodeur. http://www.nhl.com/ice/playerstats.h...e&viewName=wlt

What is the * number of games for having to go to OT or SO?

It's nit picky I know, but with the OT & SO point, if they're playing a division/conference rival, they are gaining only 1 pt instead of 2. e.g. last night's 6 seconds away from 2 that wound up being 1. Oh well.

Still, 28-0-0 is most impressive, obviously. Quick has been awesome in OT and SO and I can't stop thinking about Doughty's blast last night - Wow!

Darcy Tucker suspended one game for his hit on Matt Greene on the icing call.
