Yah, you're right. Its just a shame to relegate Boyd to the "shutdown" line the game after he breaks through with two goals

ideally he'd be replacing smithson instead of ward but maybe he can help that line a little in the offensive end

While I certainly think it provides potential offensive pop, I'm also looking at it as very good defensively and capable of the minutes (typically at or near the top for a line) that Trotz plays his shutdown line.

A Boyd, Legwand, Smithson line scares me a little as a shutdown line as I don't think they have enough size. That's especially so against Dallas. They have a lot of experience and defensive savvy, but that lack of size for a shutdown line scares me.

Put it this way:

Defensively, I like Wilson-Legwand-Erat better than Boyd-Legwand-Smithson overall (just my opinion). Offensively, the Wilson-Legwand-Erat line is light years better.

I am looking foward to seeing Leggy and Boyd on a line together, though I would much prefer seeing Ward over Smithson. I think their games are similar. They both are good skaters, both have more offensive ability than some people think, they are both responsible defensively, and both hit goal posts like its their job.

but...but its Arnotts old jersey, the reason im a Preds fan now was I was an Arnott fan when he was with Devils then the Stars, then I fell out of hockey and when I got back into it I looked for him and found him with the Preds, and here I am, now a Preds fan more than an Arnott fan, but still, if you see a guy in section 206 rockin the mooterus...It might be me, I havent decided.

I believe we will see a Boyd - Legwand - Ward line next season in a two-way role, but commonly paired against the opponent's top line in a shutdown role on a nightly basis.

There is far more offensive potential with that line and with the addition of Boyd's speed and skill I think it'll work out nicely...

Looking forward to seeing what Coach Good does with Boyd this summer. He's had success with multiple players in the past adding 10-15 lbs of muscle over the summer and ultimately I think that's what Boyd will need to carve out a greater role in the NHL...

People complained our mustards were the end of hockey? The Boston jersey with Winnie the Pooh was awful too.

So as long as a few of you are here, what are your thoughts about moving one of the big 5 (arnott, dumont, erat, sullivan, legwand) during the offseason? Can it happen? and if so who? Will Dan Hamhuis be resigned? Grebs? Cube? O'O'O Reilly? Boyd? So many questions!!!

Just a question to think about when we watch the game.

Oh, and who scores tonight's game winner

Sounds like Boyd is starting with Dumont and Tootoo and Spaling is on the wing with Legwand and Smithson...

Rinne with a key save, Bouillon to the box for holding...

Ott takes a holding call against Hamhuis to kill the remainder of the PK...Preds will go on the PP after this 4 on 4 expires...

Arnott, Dumont, Erat, and Sullivan all have NMC's and Legwand an NTC, therefore...they are Predators...

The decision on Hamhuis and Grebeshkov will depend on available funding and their contract demands, but wouldn't doubt one is back...but also wouldn't be surprised if neither were either...

Poile said he is very interested in getting Bouillon re-signed. O'Reilly has another year on his deal and Boyd will be signed as an RFA...

Mark Howard isn't cut out to interview anyone. He'd make Hellen Keller uncomfortable.
