I have a feeling Price will not get the offensive support... again, especially against the Sabres. At least Price did well against the Sabres this season with GAA 0.99 and %.969.

I don't know we should blame Price (like some already are) but this team can't score with Price in net. I'm bringing this stat up again because I think it shows how hard it is for Price to get a win.

Price's last 13 regulations loss, team score 14 goals. That's an average of 1.07 goals scored per game.

We need a big effort tonight but will be in tough against a very stingy defense from Buffalo. We need the first goal in this game, I hope Cammy has a big game. Go Habs.

They need to either shoot high on Ryan Miller or make him move laterally. Those are his biggest weaknesses as a goalie. In fact, I'd say Price has way better lateral movement than Miller. This is also why Jason Spezza always scores on him. For whatever reason, Montreal seems keen on shooting low for rebounds but it rarely works because Miller has good rebound control.

I hope O'Byrne destroys that little face of Kaleta again.

I know Lappy and Moen and not the biggest fighter this year but without them, watch Kaleta hitting everybody and none of our forward can do **** about it.

A very soft line-up (definitely not well equipped for evens strength playoffs hockey) but I am very happy with the returns of Cammalleri (finally a productive second line!) and, to a lesser extent, Bergeron.

Go Price and, more importantly... Hail to our PP!

That is damn pathetic! Everytime Price is in net i say it, we will get shutout! It's pathetic how this team plays infront of him. I am a pro-Price.

After only scoring 2 goals against the Leafs and being shutout by the Sens scoring first tonight is key... Hopefully the return of Cammy and MAB on the PP gives the Habs offense a spark or else it could be a long night against Miller and the Sabres offensively..

it's because halak's rebounds are predictable and help clear pucks as they are already being deflected foward off of him. the D is ready for this, and things move quicker. it's almost as if halak makes the first pass. the transition game is different when price is netting.

I'm sure the guys, mostly rookies making $900,000.00 per season can afford an upgrade as well. Last time I checked not very many people make $900,000.00 in 9 months.

If they did say anything I'd tell them to spring for the extra couple hundred bucks for the upgrade or play better to make more money and stop belly aching because they're also millionaires!

You should be a politician. I've never heard anyone justify bad rebound control and turn it into a positive by saying it helps the transition game especially when you consider Price is like a 3rd defenseman when he plays the puck a la Brodeur or Turco.

Next you're going to tell me the Hab's like to give up the first goal as a way of motivating themselves and playing with more passion.

If we're going to win, we need to score the first goal.

Lol I was just going to say if his rebounds are predictable, aren't they also predictable for opposing forwards?

But you summed it up pretty nicely as well.

Cammy is a dangerous sniper and always at the right place at the right time, doubt he needs a period or two to get back in the groove

With MAB & Cammy back in and Moen & Lappy out we have a ridiculously small line-up and little grit.

MAB shouldn't be playing forward but he is because he sucks on D and none of our current D has ANY offensive skills outside of Markov. That's pathetic. Hard to believe that only a couple of years ago we had the highest scoring D in the league.

We badly need another offensive d-men (Subban eventually) who can get 40+ points, and a decent two-way guy (30-40 pts).

Right now we essentially have 5 defensive defencemen dressing. Until we get offensively stronger on the backend our forwards will always find it tough to score because teams don't respect our D. They can drop off them without problem.

I expect a low scoring game.

2-1 Habs.

AK & Gionta.

not saying that i'm right. but there has to be factual reasons as to how a team manages to play so differently time and time again over a big enough sample of games. just theorizing.

and by predictable i didn't mean in their direction, but in their inevitability. the D are ready for a big rebound somewhere and know they have to hustle to get it out. rather than "oh, he'll snap it up and drop it to someone". i don't think it's the only factor, but it may have some merit. the prospect of big rebounds will cause you to think and perpare your next actions differently.

but i won't get into any price/halak debacle. i don't even browse through that thread. i support both. besides, what more can possibly be said about these 2 that could fill up 5 ****ing threads worth. is it just thread 1 copy/pastaed over and over? it's ridiculously redundant.

it's not always the goalie with the most skill on paper and in theory, that will always be the best option for a team. it's possible that an "inferior" goalie may have more success because his style is simply more compatible with the players around him. but these are still unknowns, they are still too young.

If Price does well, game should be decided on special units. Habs are ranked 1st on PP on the road; Sabres are 1st on PK at home. Let's hope the refs will allow us to watch that part of the game on more than one occasion (1 MTL PP last game in Buffalo).

I'm wearing my habs jersey tonight. We are 5-0 this season when I do. I wore it for the 100th anniversary game, Halak's first two shutouts, our win over the Canucks and our last win over the Caps.
