Well that was an interesting meeting. I had to learn about conflicts.

I busted out laughing when I heard what the meeting was about. The whole day is nothing but conflicts with visitors for me. I actually had one right before the meeting too.

TaN is slow again.

The worst book you've ever read all the way through? Any books you've had to stop reading because they were so bad?

I know a bunch of people who loved Gravity's Rainbow and keep telling me to read it. I started it, but I couldn't drag myself through it. That's very unusual, because I can usually read just about anything.

Yeah, I know, but, for example, I actually enjoy most of Faulkner's work and my friends do nothing but ***** about that if I bring it up. Guess Pynchon just doesn't do it for me.

Speaking of Faulkner, I couldn't finish the Sound and the Fury. Totally unreadable in parts.

I liked Finnegan's Wake, but that's another one that's extremely hard to read, even though it's really funny.

Worst ever all the way through? Not sure, if it sucks I just stop reading it.

One that sticks out was Madame Bouvarie. I practically threw that steaming pile at my teacher in HS. I don't know how I ever made it through honors and AP English, I hated 90 percent of the books we were forced to read and cliff noted pretty much all of em. I'm a great bull****ter so my essays were always a B or an A, and I read like 5 pages of some books

Grapes of Wrath was a brutal book. I remember getting to the end and saying, "The ****?!"

I also couldn't stand Jane Eyre when we read it in 10th grade. What 15 year old guy wants to read about marriage in Regency England?

Speaking of Grapes of Wrath, the worst books I actually ever finished are everything I ever read by Steinbeck. Garbage, just complete trash in my opinion.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Les Miserables, and War and Peace are insufferably long. I liked Les Miserables, but come on. Hugo didn't need to write 20 pages about the Battle of Waterloo just to show how one character saved another character's life on the battlefield.

I actually quite liked Moby Dick. Skipped all the boring as hell whale biology parts, though

Eh, I disagree. I didn't like the Grapes of Wrath, it's way too preachy. But Of Mice and Men was great, and Tortilla Flat is pretty good too.

Every page was like trying to climb a 20 foot chain link fence upside down. Terribly awkward vocabulary and sentence structure. Maybe an audio book version would be ok, but man that was brutal
