Flyers defenseman Matt Carle will miss tonight’s game against the Minnesota Wild with a deep bone bruise in his left foot after blocking a shot in Ottawa on Tuesday, according to G.M. Paul Holmgren. He is day-to-day.

Lukas Krajicek, who sat out the last two games, will replace Carle in the lineup.

Carle has been paired with Chris Pronger for virtually the entire season on the blue line, so Peter Laviolette must shuffle his defense pairings. Here’s what they will look like for tonight’s game:

Chris Pronger-Braydon Coburn
Kimmo Timonen-Lukas Krajicek
Oskars Bartulis-Ryan Parent

Carle has played in all 73 games this season, tallying 4 goals and 28 assists for 32 points and 16 penalty minutes. His +18 rating is second on the team only to Pronger’s +21.

Probably just with us sucking so bad on the PP I am gonna blame it on something

We need to pick up the PP w/ Carter out. Need to score when we have the man advantage with our best goal scorer in the press box.

I like this faceoff thing on the Wild feed, where all 10 fans can text in which one they agree with more.

Oskars will end the season with 12 goals. The flood gates have been opened.

Should wait for a couple of games of the lines clicking before that gets thought about, but I was thinking the same thing.

He hit the rookie wall awhile back already. Sucks, but that's what usually happens so it shouldn't be a huge surprise.

No they have two guys talking about different topics and you can text in "Green" or "Gorg" to a number for who you agree with more and it updates % of people who agree with them more, and is constantly updating. But they started talking about Lobster bisque. Really? At least Drunk Coatsey's Corner is slightly entertaining.

Braydon Coburn proving how hard it is to play with Chris Pronger.

So is that the kind of glove save Boucher should have made vs Kelly (Ottawa)?

A quick glance: he has only 14 PIMs since January 17 and 8 PIMs in the last four games (inc. tonight). Prior to the tonight, the last three games, his three minor penalties came when no one was in the box.
