Deal isn't finalized but the reports of Ducks and Clayton Stoner for four years, $13 million appear to be accurate.

Is this an Allen replacement or something? I don't see him as a top 4 guy.

I'm still kind of hoping $3.25M is the total.

Of course we go for the defensive D-man I have never heard of.

And give him a great paycheck.

BM didn't learn from Souray/Allen.

Way too much money for this guy

I would rather have kept Allen, I think he's a lot better than he was given credit for last year.

I'm hoping BM sees something in Stoner that none of us do because I do not understand this at all.

Hate this signing. $3.25 a season for a #4-5 Dman.
This is not what we needed AT ALL.

And #4 is a huge stretch, even for a non-contender. More like a #6, at least so far in his career.

Urgh.

I hold judgement, but this just doesnt make any sense. If it was a 1-2 year deal I would be ok with it.

I'm sure Murray knows what he's doing. Stoner is pretty good. This feels a bit too expensive though

If you play him in the top 4 you will instantly regret it. I liked Stoner here but only as long as you keep him on the 3rd pairing as a shutdown d-man. Play him in the top 4 and give him a good amount of minutes and you'll see how bad his hockey IQ is. Throwing the puck up the boards to try to get it out of the zone is the Stoner special. Lots of bad passes too.

Stoner always played us very tough... He smashed Perry pretty good too.
