I hope the result of this game ticks the Habs off and they finish the season strong.. I think I'd rather the game be a blow out than lose like that...

Miller played a great game and the rest of the Sabres team played great for 3 minutes and they got 2 points.. Tonight's game against Fla will be huge and 2 points the Habs must have against a team they need to win against...

It will be an interesting sprint to the finish and as usual our Habs can't do anything the easy way.. They will make us sweat it out the last 8 games....

Look, I'm a Halak fan and even I can say that Price played a solid game. He is in no way to blame for this loss.

Thank you mods for cleaning up this thread.

The final 4-5 minutes makes me doubt about how our (small) players will do in the playoffs. When the intensity gets to the highest level, I don't know if our players will be able to handle the pressure.

It's a team game. You can't blame 7 different penalties on 1 player.

Price played a solid game. He also made the initial saves on those two goals, but the D just couldn't help him out to clear it. I don't understand why AK and Cammy were out there in the final minutes of the game. Cammy tried hard to attempt to clear it but failed and eventually resulted in a goal. I'm not blaming anyone in particular, it's pretty much the teams fault as a whole.

**** happens, should have gotten 2 points, but got 1, Price played well, Pouliot played horrible. Gonna take a couple games for Camm to get going again, hopefully not anymore then a couple. Halak will be in against Florida tomorrow night.

We were completely controlling the flow of the game when O'Byrne took this dumb penalty.

Plus, I'm ****ing annoyed of seeing him playing the stick... It's getting ridiculous, he's the softest 230 pounders D in the NHL.

On this sequence, O'Byrne takes the body out, no PK, no Buffalo goal.

I've been patient with O'Byrne, but I'm getting sick of his game. He's not doing anything since getting knocked out by the gargoyle (Lapperriere)...

I still am sick of tonight's sudden turnover... I don't even know if I'm willing to watch them play tomorrow... It's going to be much too frustrating to me to handle if they get out without any "pep" and still lose to Florida.

I know my hockey and I know enough that Price is not yet ready and may never be ready but Halak IS ready.
Condascendance, smugness...this post has it all.

You watching former greats does not make you more knowledgeable. But considering your post history in this thread, I don't think it's gonna get through your skull.

What happened tonight though was not on him. That was a total meltdown of positioning and discipline by the team, and a few certain individuals who I won't name, but we know who they are.
It was boneheaded coaching decisions. That's what it was.

Price played a fantastic game, and he deserved a shutout.

And he probably would have got one, too, if not for how we take too many penalties. We have lost a lot of the games this year due to taking stupid penalties late in the third period.

Price had no chance whatsoever on the first goal. None.

On the goal that tied the game, here's how it went down:

Buffalo is buzzing all around the net, just peppering Price with tough shot after tough shout after tough shot. They were pumped up after getting that first goal. Our players can't nab any of the rebounds. We had chance after chance to clear our zone, but keep getting beat to the puck by Buffalo. And, not surprisingly, they eventually scored, costing us the game. Before they scored that second goal, Price made spectacular save after spectacular save. You can't expect the goalie to bail you out forever.

Price could have been better in the shootout, I admit, but it never should have came to that, anyway.

I don't know why Martin has the Habs go into a defensive shell when they have a lead in the third, because the team frankly sucks at it. We might as well keep going for more goals.

The most worrysome is Pouliot's recent play. Gomez's line needs his big body to open up room. Since he has become invisible, Gomez doesn't have room for his end to end rush. Gionta was fighting hard but you can't do much with a two men line. JM needs to find out what is wrong with this "Prince". A big body is worthless if you don't use it to check and hit.

No reason for AKost and Cammy on the ice after the 1st goal.

With one minute to play and a 1 goal lead, being shorthanded because they pulled their goalie, AKost and Cammy were the last forwards I wanted to see on the ice. And I love them.

Was Martin shooting for the AKost hat trick?

Take a timeout, and come back with something like Pleks, Moore, Pyatt, SKost or Metropolit with Markov and Gill at D, especially since Hamrlik has been **** defensively lately.

I'd really like to hear Martin's justification for his choice.

I was pretty upset when O'Byrne took that penalty...that's pretty much a textbook definition of a bad penalty.

Hopefully the guys pull it out tonight...

This game is further proof of how effective we are when we have a 2 man forecheck and our D are agressive, and also our useless we are when we sit back. The forwards on this team are just not built to play a sit back, suffocating style. Moore, Gionta, Gomez, Pyatt, Cammalleri, Kostitsyns etc etc... These guys are just so much more effective when they are on the prowl. Taking away time and space from opposing Dman. That's what we did during the win streak and its the ONLY way we are going to have a chance in a playoff series.
