Per Sports Club Stats, Carolina has a 0.3% chance of making the playoffs at present. Winning all 9 of their remaining games would give them a 73.3% chance of getting in, while just 1 regulation loss drops the odds to 21.1%. To have a shot at a top 3 pick, it looks like 3-6-0 might do it.
It's another Pothier/Walker/Corvo reunion, although it looks like Walker will be scratched.
Drayson Bowman is up for his 2nd career NHL game.

as i am a draft pick guy this season, i view these next three games as must lose matches. the series against atlanta more so of course. we lose those two against atl and boston is in the fight for their lives, and there is no way we could catch atlanta. i think right now its likely we cant pick worse than 7. id like 5 or better to be as safe as possible and still give us some intriguing options. i dont think we can do better than 4 without lottery miracles.
im sorry if my approach is too negative, but i view it as a positive.
when we will next have a chance to be this bad? have to take advantage.
these good teams have to stop taking us so lightly.
We have a top 4 spot right now... 3 more losses and it's entirely conceivable that the Isles pass us sending us to the #3 spot in the draft. Just gotta keep playing like ****. Hell it's not out of the realm of possibility that the Leafs could pass us by the end of the season... ok maybe THAT one is hopeful thinking on my part. Just as long as we're top 5 in this draft we're in good shape... since there's no way in hell we draft Tarasenko.
i think TO is "out of reach", just like anyone 5 pts ahead of us is the same. at this pt, a 3 pt jump is close to impossible. itll come down to the last game between us and the rest of the pack we're within 3 of.
Everyone from 6-15 sucks. But since everyone plays each other, when one team loses, another team wins. So, even if they were to win tonight, another team playing a 6-15 team will win. There are 3 other games like that, as well as the Flames playing the Islanders and Wild playing the Flyers.
There's no way McBain doesn't make the team next year. There's no question about that. The only question is how legitimate are his Calder chances based on this showing plus an offseason training with the team.
