I figured there was absolutely zero chance of one of Ovechkin or Semin not scoring. I was wrong.

Staal actually tries a move for the first time ever but fails terribly.

I'm glad they've got the camera in so close I have no idea what is happening.

By the way, McBain has been our best penalty shot guy this season, just so you know...

How about that? The lowly Canes take the season series from the great Washington Capitals!

My thoughts exactly. It's like they tried to pick the worst camera angles possible.

I'd cut off my pinkie toe to see a playoff series between these two teams. I'd rather it be with a healthy Ward, Gleason and Ruutu, and I'm not holding my breath. But man it would be entertaining.

I love that they went with LaRose. I love it even more that he scored.

The crowd reaction when he was picked was great.

Moments of sunshine in a season of rainy days. What a series between these teams this season.

As far as I can tell both teams went 3-1-2 vs. each other this season.

EDIT: I guess Carolina wins on goal differential though.

Sick goal by LaRose. I would poop myself if the Canes somehow squeezed in to the eighth spot to play us.

Another worthless victory.

Someone should let Bowman know that you need to bring some intensity or get ready for another year plus in the A.

I may be in the minority here, but I'd love to see Legace back as the backup next year. Peters hasn't shown much at all in the last few games (I'd go so far as to say he's cost them a few wins recently) and Legace has shown that he's capable of playing like a #1 if Ward goes down again.

I almost forgot about Bowman despite being excited all day about the game simply because of him. He was absolutely invisible tonight. Not completely unexpected for a guy's 2nd ever game, but it may be better to bring Samson up.

Bowman is like that here too, he doesn't honestly do a whole lot, and then bam he scores (not enough, but that'll come).

Samson however, you notice on EVERY shift.

I agree with everything in this post. Legace has had his moments too, but Peters has cost the team more games than he has. Peters is a good goalie, but if I were coach I think I'd be more comfortable with the veteran Legace than with the inconsistent Peters.
