Kovalev, second from left, is seen being escorted by close friends to visit a specialist about a worrisome health issue that will keep him out of the line-up Thursday against the Buffalo Sabres.

No you are correct sir. Elliot will make 26 saves for HIS shutout after coming in relief of Leclaire who got pulled after letting in 1 goal

Lines from Sens twitter:

Regin-Spezza-Alfredsson
Cullen-Fisher-Shannon
Ruutu-Kelly-Neil
Foligno-Smith-Winchester

As much as I like Kovalev, I think that second line will do better without him.

When Michalek and Kovalev get back, I'd like to give this a try:

Foligno-Spezza-Alfredsson
Michalek-Regin-Kovalev
Cullen-Fisher-Shannon
Ruutu-Kelly-Neil

Why did Foligno get demoted all the way to the 4th line?

Too many centers (7 to be exact. 8 if you count shannon).
Sorry everybody, but i still can't see how the lines will work. too many guys playing out of position/role.

I guess someone has to play on the 4th. and shannon's def. not a 4th line type.

In Montreal he took 2 penalties so Cory sat him down for a few shift, Regin jumped up to the first line and Cory hasn't changed the lines since (besides injuries).

Foligno hasn't played centre since junior, barring the odd game. He's been on left wing 99% of the time the past 3 years. He's on the 4th because since coming back from injury, Regin and Cullen have outplayed him, and the Ruutu-Kelly-Neil line is set in stone (and for good reason).

The reason you don't understand the lines is because you're expecting two scoring lines, a checking line, and an energy line. When healthy, we run 3 scoring lines and a checking line. If we had one or two more natural scorers, we could put up some healthy goal numbers.

I know foligno doesn't play center. Just saying that there are too many in the lineup that can't really play wing as well.

Nevermind scoring lines and checking etc. I just don't see how he can put together 4 balanced lines. We don't really have a legitimate 1st line, but i really don't want to get into all that again.
I'm just not crazy about the lines. shouldn't have said anything.

go sens. I'm opening my V and depositing all my cash on tonight's game.

Stupid overly-skinny Miller. He looks like he'd be in a mid-90s grundge band wearing a plaid shirt and converse sneakers. Too bad he's one heck of a goalie.
