If JA is shown the door, would someone like Rick Tocchet be of interest now that the housecleaning in Tampa has begun?

Randy Cunneyworth..the time has come for him to get a head coaching gig...he's more emotional than JA and has done a great job with young guys in the past (see Buffalo prospects).

if we go outside...Ted Nolan would be interesting..he'd at least demand accountability and his teams have always been tough to play against.

What happened to Cunneyworth? Other than the Thrashers which makes him a loser by association he was the hot name a couple of years ago. Now nobody even mentions him as a potential head coach.

And Hartley hasn't gotten a job because most of his ex-players hate him. When he interviewed in Russia for Avangard, Jagr and all of the ex-nhlers went to the team's management and told them they didn't want Hartley.

Going into the playoffs in 2006-2007. The team had a perfect chance to win a few games. What happened instead is a four game sweep vs. NYR. There's a reason for that.

That's all I can really say on that.

What followed was a 0-6 start at the beginning of 2007-2008, and the beginning of a slide down a very slippery slope into mediocrity and sucktitude.

My list: Guy Carbonneau, Ted Nolan, Dave Lewis

We need a real NHL coach to steer the ship in the right direction. Cunneyworth might make a fine head coach, but the franchise as a whole needs input from the outside...

Maybe Tom Renney? He did better with NYR than most.

Then in that case, Dave Lewis needs not apply. He was a disaster in Detroit and Boston. No thanks.

I like Cunneyworth, Therrien, or *maybe* Tom Renney.

Nolan would be great, cos he'd get the GM fired...

Be careful what you wish for. There is a reason that Duds has already been around the block a few times as GM. His eye for talent is unquestioned. His skill at being a GM is. I'll hold of judgment on this move for one year.

One thing is for sure...what we had wasn't working.

Just speculation, Wad will still have a hand in negotiation and trade talk behind the scenes.

well the press release says DW will handle the business side of things...so maybe that will let Duds focus strictly on personnel

My concern is not in his ability to spot talent, that I have faith in. He got bent over in several deals in his past GM posts. For all the hate DW has gotten, he has "won" more trades than he "lost" over the years.

OH, and I swear if he brings Torts in here to coach this team I will go off in such a way that even ASF will say:

OMG I don't know where to start!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the best news in Thrashers history. Anderson and his clowns are gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JA is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wait....... this should have happened in January. Long live the imbasol behind the bench. I hope none of you ACTUALLY liked this guy and instead disagreed with everything I said because you were afraid to agree with MR. Realism himself. Anderson will go down as the worst coach in Thrashers history. His system is awful it works once every 8 games. There is NO defense implemented what so ever. I've been saying this for years why can't I be the GM? I woulda had him fired in November.

Realist strikes again.

Anderson should have been fired by the end of December.
Weeks should have been let go 5 years ago.
As for D-Wad, I been calling for his head for a long as i can remember.

Better three years late than never. I just hope the damage can be un-done.
