I'm quite confident it will start falling again pretty soon. It doesn't take much.

I think it stopped falling in the sense that in terms of the NHL, we are back to "Nothing with the Sharks matters until the playoffs."

part of me is for blowing up this team if they fail again, but then I think, " I dont want to be like the Oliers for the next 5 years..."

For now...
Until they inevitably draw the Red Wings in the first round

Well, if you take away the "Best in the West" or even "Best Team in the League" that some were using as a standard, maybe. But if you look at team performance, not so much.

The fact that the Marleau, Heatley, JT line still can't be effective together is a matter of concern. The constant turnovers and inability to clear the zone are still matters of concern. And whether Rob Blake's sudden 2-game improvement from "horrific" to "pretty good, especially for a 40 year old" represents a real turn that will carry through the playoffs, or is just a bit of him remembering what he played like 15 years ago... that may be an issue of concern as well.

So while maybe the sky is not falling at the moment, it's definitely dropped much lower than it was before.

EDIT: It doesn't help for optimism that the best forwards in the last 2 wins have been Pavs, Seto, Clowe, and Couture. Not a single one of the "Big 3" on that list.

My attitude towards the Sharks going into this season was "Don't Tell Me, Show Me"... That's my mindset now and will be my mindset once the playoffs start...Instead of talking about playing better in the post season, just go out and play better in the post season, period. I don't want to hear about it, I need to see it. The Sharks shouldn't listen to they nay sayers, they're always out there. For me, once the playoffs start the only thing that will matter is whether or not the Sharks can take their game to the next level and be willing to do all that is necessary individually and as a team to be successful in the playoffs. The rest is just details...

This might be the only time in my 4 years here that I actually agree with you. However, I tend to look at the play of Pavs, Seto, Clowe, and Couture and take it as more of a good thing than look at the rather mundane play of the big three. I think we can agree that our biggest offensive question marks revolve around the lack of secondary scoring. That's why I want to see our secondary scorers enter the playoffs hot more so than anyone else.

Phew, I watched and they won. So that means I can continue watching. Though JT did get hurt.

We need Jumbosauce for a deep run. Of course I'm sure many people will laugh when they read that. But I totally believe it.

Eh, it'd be a way to see if the Patrick Ewing effect applies in hockey.

I don't have a problem losing games. It's the way we lost those 6 games that was the problem.

How long is Joe gonna be out? He just got dropped in my fantasy league and it looks like I will be in the championship game next week. Already have Marleau and Heatley

From everything I heard. He will be a game time decision for today, but he feels he is ready to play. The coach has final say, or does he?

edit: I just read pollacks blog, I guess the coach has final say.

During the pregame today, they talked about how Clowe has been a vocal leader in the locker room and is "grumpy" when the team plays poorly. Good to hear.

I really liked seeing Clowe with the A in Jumbo and Blake's absence. He definitely deserves it. He was one of the only guys who played at all decent during our slump.
