The Best Groupies ones made me laugh...

If the Wings have ice girls, I'm so gonna be pissed. Seriously people- it's sports. If there is equal number of ice girls and ice guys, then I will have no objections, but they are catering to MEN, and polls have been done that women make up nearly 40% of the viewers of sports. SO HMPH.

Anyone else really surprised that 42% think they have a gay teammate?

Not as rediculous as it sounds. Assuming they polled form all teams equally (at least somewhat, kinda a small sample size here) that just means that about half the locker rooms have a player that trips the gaydar.

Kinda shocked Wings fans got the nod for meanest players though. I could understand it back when we were singing "au revior" to patty wah, but these days it's hard to imagine JLA as a bastion of hatred for opposing teams.

Glad it is though.

Not really. There are gay players in the NHL, you'd be a fool to believe otherwise. I'm just wondering if the 42% who said yes know so or if they're assuming.

Oh I'm sure there are gay players in the league. I'm just surprised 42% said so, especially if they polled all the teams equally.

I guess I was a fool because I thought gay players would be almost non existent in hockey.

Do you think there is one in red wings? I sure as hell know one in pittsburg.

Why would gay players be non-existent? I guess I just don't see the logic. I'm sure the Wings have had a gay player at some point, I'm not sure it's really right to speculate.

I dunno.. I have never really thought about gay players in NHL.. maybe that's why.

I guess you are right in that it is not appropriate to speculate.

Do you really don't want to know or do you really don't care? You can't have it both ways.

But think about the advantage we would have when Craig Anderson comes to town if we had some hot ice girls.

especially surprising to me since the % for PED's was so low.

maybe ESunlin is right, considering the potentially high number of gay players. or maybe the other players are already enough distraction.

what if anderson is gay?

How many of those had come out of the closet? I'm willing to bet more gays hide their sexuality than are open about if, so if you can't tell who's gay regardless about how open they are about it, I must object to your supposedly tuned gaydar.

With Sidney Crosby in the league? No. I bet Getzlaf and Perry are gay for eachother. Backstrom looks too feminine too.
