Mike Fishers Game Misconduct

That was a terrible call. Koleta kinda threw himself on the ground, you'd think it was obvious. I though i'd start this one, because it's gonna be the talk of the game, night, week. Terrible.

Ofcourse the ref kicking him out was Kerry Fraser.
It was on an icing call. The ref blew the whistle. He didn't touch the puck (last time i checked there was no "no touch icing"). He stops, Fisher didn't hit him until they both stoped. Koleta took an obvious dive

This is definitely thread worthy. Let's maybe wait and see how it affects the outcome of the game first.

Mathew Barnaby is saying he knows Kaleta and that he dove. Looking at the TSN live speed replay, I would have to agree.

The NHL needs to take steps against players who try to abuse the system.

It was a dumb play by Fisher too, they were battling before this even happened and I guess Fisher was frustrated, im not 100% sure. If Fisher would of just used his stick to try to negate the icing he wouldnt have put his hands on Kaleta in the first place. But that was an obvious dive by that rat. Fisher barely shoved him and he flew into the boards and injured himself in the process

The misconduct will be revoked when the NHL reviews this. Fisher is still gone for this game.

Will this be a suspention? Ottawa's known for it's bad luck. Especially on calls by Fraser

Fisher barely touched him. Kaleta checked the space he had and then dropped into the boards. no way that should be a game misconduct, but i don't mind it as much because that's the kind of thing you want out of the game (i mean a real push into the boards). Maybe this sets an example.

that was bull****. Kaleta was taking his sweet ice time skating back. It shouldn't have even been an icing. He was obviously waiting for the moment that fisher was going to tap him after being frustrated for going so damn slow. what a dbag.

This is what scares me.

Fisher is a pretty clean player... and the fact that he's a hard hitter, and rocks the other guys out on the ice, may work to his disadvantage now.

Urgh

Seems like the older refs need to be kicked from the league.

This is the type of call the new ultra sensitive hockey fans wanted.

shouldn't be, Fisher doesn't have a track record like Ovechkin

Where was the head shot here?

Also it was a dive, put that in consideration

Refs be cracking down on anything that looks like that

It was a dive, but I don't blame the refs for the call. There won't be a suspension for this, and Kaleta got his back and then dissapeared for most of the game. We won, time to move on.

I understand the call by the refs...but there better not be a suspension from this.

Fraser is retiring after this season along with 2 other veteran refs, not sure who the other 2 are though

We won the game, so I'm over it now, but damn that was a brutal call. I was going through the main page, and some Sabres fans are unbelievable..

"Fischer, is a gutless puke, he should get suspended 3 games.."
"No way Kaleta dove..he even got injured on the play.."
"The Sabres are a far superior team.."

I think my hate for the "Slugs" surpassed the Leafs.

Rick Jeanneret is always calling for league reviews during the season, and whipping the fanbase in to a frenzy for nothing. Sabres culture of diving continues.

Fish should know better than to even touch anyone when he's beat on an icing. It looked like Kaletta went down, but it came out worse than he planned. Shoulda been 2 minutes. The refs will see the replay, and it will be remembered.

It's tough enough officiating, without the players trying to exploit the rules that are there to protect them.

Agreed with your post. But I'm sure Kaleta faked the injury. At some point in the YT video, you see Kaleta get up pretty fast on one knee after the hit looking fine, and as soon as he hears the call, he acts like he's hurt. But yeah, 2 minutes for boarding, 2 minutes for diving should of been the calls.
