Well im pretty sure it was his knees, as his legs looked extremely shaky. Ive gone down like that (except i was sliding) and even with shin-pads the force of hitting the boards can really mess up your knees. This worries me more because he was probably going 3x as fast as i was.

This is the absolute WORST thing that could happen in this game

I'm not a religious man, but I'm praying to the hockeygods for Thornton tonight.

he crawled on his hands and knees. If he dislocated his kneecap....he couldn't TOUCH it, much less crawl on ice.

Well at least we have an excuse for another early playoff exit!

lol, PJ Stock is terrible at highlights. He botched every package at least once. Especially when he said that not only are the Sharks playing Vancouver, but they also must employ some kind of MLB spring training split-squad setup to also be playing in SoCal vs the Kings (it's Stars-Kings, but he said "Sharks-Kings")

also, once it's up on YT, watch for a clip of Abbotsford Heat coach Jim Playfair going totally mental on the bench after one of his players got tossed for crashing into the goalie.

yeah, and given that pose his ankle is likely the best bet.

Re: my Jim Playfair comment above:

It's in here somewhere:

gimme a sec to find the time where the good stuff starts, because there's some filler in at least the first minute or so.

EDIT: the whole thing starts just before 2:30, where you see JD Watt run over teh Bulldogs goalie and get tossed. Playfair's meltdown starts at about 3:30 or so when he receives word of the ejection.

I think it's his knee and he's got a dead leg. I've gone into the boards like that and buzzed my knee. The worst time, it split my knee open and required stitches, but was not major damage to a guy like Jumbo.

Even though everyone rips on Thornton for his playoff performances, I immediately felt a cold ball of lead in my stomach at the thought of Jumbo being out for an extended period of time.

Even if he doesn't put up huge points, just the threat of JT is enough for an opposing team to put their best defensive guys on him. Sharks task gets much tougher in the playoffs if Thornton can't go.

Let's hope it's just a tweaked ankle or something like that.

The Sharks have no chance at winning 2 rounds without Joe Thornton.

All Dan and Jamie have is that Joe is "questionable" to return to the game.

We super sloew motion replayed Joe into the boards, I thought it was ankle at first but it didn't twist. The toe of his left skate hit the boards first. Then the two of his right skate hit the boards. After that his toes hit, followed by both knees, My guess, is His knee hurts really bad, hopefully just a bruise.

The player on the bench next to Playfair to the right is laughing his ass off and covering his face with his glove. Awesome.

I think he broke the second stick because he knew he was gonna get ejected and wanted to play to the crowd

Blake has been VERY strong for the past few games. A treat to watch him back in form.

And while I'm praising Blake: Nabby makes a monster glove save that reminds me that he has been great tonight too. One softy, but otherwise has shut it down when we most needed him.

Disagree. The rest of the team will have to work much harder, but they have the talent.
