It's very well possible.

Devils beat Pens for the 2nd seed and Flyers end up 7th.

Meh, it's not the refs job to give out an even amount of penalties

The calls in this game have at least originated from something, and aren't out of thin air.

Carcillo did slash a stick, even if it was weak
Bartulis did get his stick into the midsection on Zharkov

The Asham call was crap though

I've been saying since the Olympic break that, out of all the top teams in the East, the one I would like to face most is the Devs. They just seem the weakest to me, even with Kovalchuk.

This game and our season record against them just re-affirms that for me.

Ok baring any spectacular collapse. Boucher now has to prove he can get his first winning streak.

And considering we have a break and our next game is against a team we have dominated the past years. He better get it.

Agree.

The officials have done a good job tonight up to this point.

They still have a period to manage before they earn any more props than that from me.

I still don't think they have done a "good" job, but very rarely is any game in the NHL well reffed. This game falls right in with the normal reffing.

If they lose this game, there may not be a need to have a scheduled implosion of the Spectrum.

I would say 3 penalties called against the Flyers where very weak calls, to say the least.

The East is really bad. 6th place is very achievable for us still. I'm praying for that because that way we can avoid both Pittsburgh and Washington.

Hover: The JVR injury was specifically reported to the knee. No report on a time-frame but again that could be because the next game isn't until Thursday.

A weak hooking/slashing call is way easier to swallow than a crazy penalty like the one of Hartnell vs Pitts, or Richards vs Ott, because at least something did happen

The Devils never take penalties, there was no way this game was going to even in pen minutes

True, but I just don't want to start thinking weak calls are ok, just because we have had some of the worst calls made against us this season.

The PLLL call was weak too. Weak calls happen in every game, and to add the fact that the devils are like the most disciplined team in the NHL.

I was just pointing our the differential. I think there have been some good calls, but definitely bad ones going both ways. And yeah, they have all stemmed from something at least.
