Would you want Vincent Lecavlier?

With Tampa having to sign Stamkos, i am assuming that they will have to get rid of Lecavlier or St.Louis. Would any of you be interested on gambling on Lecavlier (Even though he has a huge contract) and hope he returns to form playing with Kessel?

Honestly, i would love to see Lecavlier center Kessel. I read an article from Ulmer i believe, and his cap hit would be around 7.5m.

He started off the season slow, and now he plays on the second line with those not so brilliant wingers. Decent numbers though.

75 Games, 22 Goals, 44 Assists, 66 Points

Discuss!

You love to take gambles on players who haven't really cashed in yet. Unfortunately, Lecavalier has already cashed in big time.

His contract and salary are totally against Burke's code. I highly doubt he'd even make an attempt to get him.

Although it is important to note that Vinny is Kadri's favorite player. Having him here could be beneficial for Kadri as a mentor, and make us competitive right away. I think with Kadri, Lecavalier and Bozak, you have three great C's to build your offense around.

Nope. If he was three years younger than absolutely. We need a young puck distributing centre. Thats how I see it at least.

He's a good player, but I really don't like the term. I'd look at Ryan Malone though.

I don't want him here.
Would be nice, but Leafs are all about youth now and he is too expensive. He singlehandedly won them their Cup imo, though.

his contract is too brutal to take on for any team, and his play is declining

His contract is huge. Also he has his ring, and is getting paid now living it up in the Tampa sun.

I think Brad Richards was their playoff hero. Ruslan Fedotenko was extremely effective for them in the Finals as well.

Lecavalier played extremely well, but I think Richards played better, which just goes to show you how great Richards was.

Not even the slightest. The thing is, Vinny really only had 2 REALLY good years and cashed in. He seems like he plays with nothing to play for any more since he has that big deal. Way too much money and way too much term on his contract for me to have ANY interest. I wish Montreal did get him last summer

I love Vinny and he should have been here 9 years ago, But that contract is crazy. So i'd have to say no here.

Despite a couple bad years, I still think this guy can be one of the best centers in the league. It's gone from a "given" to a "in the right situation", though.

I'd like to take the chance on him turning it around here, but I just don't see how we can get it to work with his contract.

i wonder how long the pens can keep all 3 centers. i am hoping for a blockbuster involving schenn and kaberle for malkin, or a lesser trade for staal.

joe thornton and brad richards can become free agents after next season, along with many other good players. no need to rush and take on vinny's contract at this point in time.

No thank you. He has his retirement contract which pays him a crap load. He can see out his career in Tampa.

What are you high?

We'd have to basically trade the whole team to get Malkin.
