Has he signed with KHL or is he rumored to be signed by a KHL team?

Thrasher fans said he was KHL bound but we in Chicago haven't heard anything about him since we got him in trade with Thrashers

No, under contract till next season, guess Atlanta fans think he wants out so Chicago is going to loan him?

From what I've heard he will be in training camp with the Hawks. He wants to play in the NHL this season and I think that he's ready. If he doesn't make it he'll be traded or loaned probably because I can't see him playing a 3rd season in the AHL.

He was a top prospect for Dallas for a while but I wouldn't hold my breath on him. This is from a beat writer in Dallas who went to the this year's draft, cause when IV was traded to Atlanta, Stars fans were a bit shocked, but it soon started to make sense.

I talked to a number of team personnel and scouts, who all feel that Ivan Vishnevsky had reached his ceiling in the AHL with the Texas Stars, and was never going to be the next great defenseman the Stars had originally hoped he would be. There's also the thought he'll likely end up in the KHL.

There are been quite a few mumblings about IV leaving for the KHL, but that was when he was with Dallas. Obviously trades change plans but my guess is that he gives it a go and tries to make the team and if it doesn't appear he will get a real shot he's gone.

It would seem that Vishnevskiy and Scott would be the 5/6 dmen on CHI next season. It's hard to imagine a scenario where that wouldn't be the case, but anything can happen.
