Wrestlemania 26 - 7PM - PPV

Since I know there are a few wrestling fans here, lets open this up for discussion for the event that happens just once a year.

Maybe start with some predictions?

First wrestling PPV I've ordered in years.

There's something seriously wrong if Taker/Michaels doesn't go last on the card.

Awesome idea for the thread. I'm actually surprised by it, pleasently surprised.

Predictions? Here's mine.

WWE Title Match
John Cena vs. Batista
Winner : Cena. Hard to see how they don't give him the win at the grandest stage of them all. Especially since he's the poster boy it seems.

World Heavyweight Title Match
Edge vs. Chris Jericho
Winner : Chris Jericho. Gut feeling.

Career vs. Streak Match
Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker
No DQ's, No Countouts
Winner : Undertaker. Bye bye HBK.

No Holds Barred Match
Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon
Winner : Bret Hart. Obviously, how can he NOT win this.

WWE Unified Tag Team Title Match
John Morrison & R-Truth vs. The Miz & Big Show
Winner : Show-Miz. Although, I really hope not. Ugh, can't stand this team.

Triple Threat Match
Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase
Winner : Randy Orton. I hope.

CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio
If Mysterio loses, he must join the Straight Edge Society.
Winner : CM Punk. Fellow straight-edgers stick together!

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Dolph Ziggler vs. Kane vs. Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. MVP vs. Jack Swagger vs. Matt Hardy vs. Evan Bourne vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston
Winner : Kofi Kingston. Another gut feeling.

Triple H vs. Sheamus
Winner : Sheamus.

Women's Match
Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Gail Kim and Beth Phoenix vs. Vickie Guerrero, Maryse, Michelle McCool, Layla and Alicia Fox
Winner : Really, who cares? Ugh, fine. The faces (good guys).

Bret Hart is back?
Can someone explain the screwjob that happened in Montreal years ago? From what I know, Mcmahon couldn't pay Brett anymore so he let him negotiate with WCW. Also, he changed the ending of the game without telling Brett.. Why? Was Brett supposed to lose? Why didn't he let him lose normally? And even if he had to win, why didn't he keep the original scenario?

When did Triple H move so far down the card? Long overdue IMO. Course it's always hard to get the booker not to overbook himself, much less the Promoter's son-in-law. (God only knows the damage Greg Gagne did to the AWA, but now I'm going waaaay back.)

In point form, so it's easier to understand and less typing for me.

-Bret was retiring after his match with Michaels.
-Bret requested that his last match end in DQ, so he still loses but retains the title.
-McMahon agrees and chooses to accept the outcome.
-McMahon talks with HHH and HBK about the situation. They do not like this.
-McMahon decides to change his mind and change the outcome, without telling Bret.
-During the match, HBK puts Bret in the sharpshooter. Ref calls for the bell, even though Bret didn't tap.
-Confusing takes place but it's obvious what happened.
-Bret spits in Vince's face and trashes the broadcast tables and set.

13 years later, he's back to work a program with Vince as a sort of way of closure for Bret.

Little piece of advice. Do not attend ANY independant shows here in Montreal. The booker will always be in the main event or near it, win 9 times out of 10 and for sure have a title on his shoulder.

Hey Crimson, check out the wrestling thread in the entertainment section on page 2. We're at something like thread #20. I don't remember seeing you in that thread.

The UFC thread gets moved and the WWE gets its own thread?

The matchups I'm the most excited for are CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio, Jericho vs Edge and of course, Taker vs HBK

And who the HELL is that dude who's facing Triple H tonight???

Can someone sum up the new storyline with Vince McMahon? I saw his return to Raw but haven't watched since. Like he came back as a guest host or whatever and then kicked in the gut by McMahon but how did this match and everything come about?

Actually, he had just gotten his release from Vince to take a much larger deal with WCW. He wasn't retiring.

Ok I see I didn't know he wanted it to end as a DQ to keep the title. Still pretty gay of Vince, because in the interviews he says that he wanted Brett to go out with dignity, but he can't really expect that after what he did to him..

I don't think Cena will win it. He will lose so that the WWE can continue the rivalry for a couple more months and milk money from it.

I used to like Batista....

-Came back again, to confront Vince. Vince was almost put into the sharpshooter but Batista came out, held him back so Vince could spit in his face.
-Came back again to challenge him to a match. Vince initially said yes but then ran out of the ring and yelled "the answer is NO because YOU DESERVE TO BE SCREWED!"
-Comes back again to say a final goodbye. As he's getting into his limo, a car backs up hitting the limo and crushing his leg between the door and the side of the car.
-Following week he's on crutches. Vince challenges him to a match which Bret replies "I can't wrestle, I got a broken leg moron." Vince kicks the crutch away causing Bret to fall. Vince leaves the ring calling him a coward. Bret accepts the match out of anger.
-Following week, with Austin as guest host, Bret demands a no holds barred match. Vince accepts, signs the contract and says if he no shows then Vince can sue him for every penny. It's then revealed, with cast on the table, that Bret was never really injured. He hits Vince with the cast and leaves.
-This past week, Bret comes out and talks about the match. At the end, Vince comes out and says "Either way Bret, you're screwed!"

That's pretty much it.

I meant to say retiring from WWE.

They didn't want him to do what Medusa did with the women's title.

I called CKAC earlier today, I can't wait for the show. Taker/Michaels, Bret/Vince, Punk/Mysterio, Edge/Jericho, MITB are all matches that I'm anxious to see. Cena entrance might be awesome (predicting the HELICOPTER entrance.)

Triple H/Sheamus, Cena/Batista, Orton/Dibiase/Rhodes and Miz/Big Show vs Morrison/R-Truth can't be that bad too.

It could be one of the best and most memorable Wrestlemania in a while. Here's my prediction:

-Taker
-Bret
-Mysterio
-Edge
-McIntyre
-Sheamus
-Batista
-Rhodes
-Miz/Big Show

Same.

Although I wish Jericho/Edge would go last. I'm a firm believer of the winner of the Royal Rumble MAIN EVENTING Wrestlemania. I hate the winner of the Royal Rumble going on mid-Wrestlemania. Stupid, IMO.
