Great hat. I saw Exelby wearing it very early in the season.

I hate 5pm games...at least we go a point, and JS goal support.

Next saturday the games are at 2pm?

Yeah, the first thing that came to my mind was that Kessel must be hanging out with Exelby at hat stores or something along those lines.

I just liked the fact that they were big points to Pitt too. There in a race with NJD, it's not like they were just mailing it in. (I realize Malkin and Gonchar were out.)

All things considered, really, the Bruins ending up with a top player may be less threatening than the Islanders getting another marquee player to play with Tavares, or the Lightning getting yet another potential top talent to play with Stamkos.
Good point, if the Bruins get Seguin, he would probably end up replacing Savard in a couple of years.

Sloppy game by both teams, but that's to be expected given the silly schedule. Nice to pick up a point nonetheless. Few quick impressions:

- I like the Swedish checking line even though I don't care for two of the three forwards involved. Good along the wall, and Stalberg can finally focus on something other than scoring woes. With his speed and size, developing him into a two-way forward could be very interesting. Sjostrom's not a bad player to model yourself after where defensive play is concerned so to have them together is a good call on Wilson's part.

- Grabo and Kulemin are just brilliant 4 on 4. Great combination of speed, size, and skill.

- Felt sorry for Giguere tonight, as the dmen didn't really show up to offer a helping hand. Dion may have played his flattest game as a Leaf too.

- Unlike most (it would appear), I think Hanson can be a valuable asset. He's obviously not going to contribute many goals, but he wins his draws (53.9%), is solid on the PK, and usually finishes his checks. Can't ask for much more from a 4th liner, and he can be a serviceable one.

- Switch Kaberle and Phaneuf sides on the PP so that Dion can take passes off the half-boards from Phil and crank them on goal. A point man who's actually willing to shoot from the middle of the ice while boasting a real off-wing option is far more threatening. Kulemin has also done a better job of screening lately so shoot, shoot, shoot. That exact strategy led to the Bozak tally tonight.

I agree with you regarding Hanson 100%. I'd sure like to see him get rewarded for his hard work by finding the back of the net one of these games, though.

I think I bought one from Zellers a few years ago. But it wasn't as nice as Phil's.

can we just like.. you know. not curse the defense every freaking play?
and by defense I mean, Schenn and Beauchamin.
Yes, sometimes people just expect too much out of 2nd. year players. They are going to make mistakes.

Yes, been missing for a couple / few seasons now. First year after the lock-out the injuries were the reason, but since then it has been goaltending.

Fleury made some great saves in the first period or the Leafs could have had 3.

Both goalies played quite well, even letting in 4 each.

Gunnarsson's a rookie. He just plays like he has 5 years experience.

That's been the biggest difference for sure during this run. Gigure made some huge saves in the 2nd and third. Both Gigure and the Monster have been doing something we haven't seen in a long time, giving the team a chance to win.

The Leafs never let up. The Leafs never sat back. This is the Pittsburgh Peguins , they are far more skilled than us and can just control the play when they turn it on.... if you're upset about tonights performance against the cup champs, that's disappointing.
