Again, he played ONE game. He's going to need to play a lot more to prove himself. I'm not hating on Bernier but some of you are giving him too much damn love. Him and Quick will battle it out and the better player will get it. I have no idea who that is, and I don't really care.

IMO, it's Quicks job to lose. He did get the team this far.
i wasn't even talking about that one game. if he has a bad game vs. NSH it won't mean anything. And of course he'll have to prove it over a season.

I don't agree that Quick and HE alone got this team this far.

I think of Eddie Murphy's stand up when i talk to people about the kings goaltending:

You didn't make love.
It just felt real good. You know why?

Because you waited
five months for it.

If you're starving and somebody
throws you a cracker,
you gonna be like this:

"*******, that's the best cracker
I ever ate in my life!

"That ain't no regular cracker, was it?
What was that, a Saltine?

"*******, that was delicious.

"That wasn't no Saltine. That was...
That was a Ritz. That wasn't a Ritz?

"Can I have another one, please?
Please, one more."

Then you get married, because
you think you've found the bomb.

Have the same crackers
every day for a year.

And you roll over one day
and be like:

"Hey, I just got some
regular old crackers."

I hope they both play well and can be successful with the Kings for a long time together. For all the people you call "Quick haters", it seems you're always fast to jump on the "poor Quick, stupid Bernier" wagon. There are a few who dis-like Quick, but every player has their haters. Even you have to admit, the team isn't playing well right now, and Quick is a big part of that, along with the defense. Quick has given up goals since the Olympics that every NHL goalie should be able to stop with their eyes closed.
Quick hasn't been playing well but either has the whole team. You can't just blame one person. "Poor Quick, stupid Bernier"...what? Did you just make that up? I have no hate towards Bernier but it just seems like some Kings fan don't have enough love for Quick and that's the only thing I'm trying to say.

Yep, I made it up. I'm just saying a lot of your posts become defensive when talking about Quick and could be viewed as Bernier hate, the same thing you're bashing other people about. You just seem a little hyper sensitive when anyone has anything bad to say about Quick. We can all have our own opinions. I did say the whole team has been playing bad, and Quick is definitely one of them. He's been letting in goals that he should stop and would have at any other point this year. He's being over played, he's tired. I don't blame that on him at all. Just trying to point out that your posts as a Quick supporter have turned you into the people that you don't like (when it comes to Bernier). We can like both our goalies. It's not a fight until death.

I have an opinion just like an other person and I'm standing by it. I do get defensive when people think Quick sucks, because he obviously doesn't. So, I feel like I do have to say something. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. People are going to believe what they want to believe about Quick and Bernier. One of them is going to come out on top in a couple seasons, I don't know if it will be a one or two seasons down the road. But, RIGHT now, Quick is our guy and we should be respecting him and what he has done for this team. I have no doubt in my mind he will turn it, I just hope its sooner than later as for the rest of the team.

Totally agree with you. I didn't mean to apply you didn't have a right to your opinion, too. Just wanted to point out you're becoming exactly like the people you don't like, just on a different side of the line (that being the Quick side). I love both our goalies, and am happy that for the first time...ever, I can say that (and I've been a Kings fan since 1990).

Us girls have to stick together, there aren't that many here.

Ya I agree with you. Quick is not the best skill wise but he is so *****ing intense that he plays good most of the time. Of course everyone is gonna get a boner over him though he's the first good goalie we've had in a while.
Hopefully his mindset rubs off on Bernier and then we'll be good, which I think will happen next year when they compete against each other. It's skill vs. attitude

You cats don't really believe Ersberg is hurt do you?

Come on, strained back?

A very subjective ailment. Impossible to diagnose objectively.

This is about Quick faltering and Bernier getting playing time.

The Kings have scored 3 goals for Bernier and he is 2-0. 'nuff said.

He deserves to get a home start tomorrow. Ersberg should be sent to Manchester on a "conditioning" assignment.

Ignoring the HF Boards Kings area Quick/Bernier "controversy".........

Bernier's got interesting mannerisms. The guy doesn't appear to do anything quickly. His positioning is so good he always seems to have his body centered on the shot and it never seems like he had to do much to get it that way. He is fast (note I didn't say quick), which we saw a few times last night where he had to speedily (LOL) get from one post to the other. But for the most part, he "slows down to speed up" (an old car-racing saying).

Even off the ice, he has efficiency in his movements. I guess that's a great description of him...."efficient".

We should nickname him "the Hybrid".

I don't recall what happened with Dryden in 1971, but I do remember the arrogant ******* saying before the 1975 season (and don't get all over me if I recall the quote not quite correctly): "We are going to reclaim what is rightfully ours."

Meaning the Stanley Cup. Well, I have hated the Habs ever since. But gotta admit, he backed it up: They won the next four years in a row. Not even close.

Check out these season records:

1975-76: 58-11-11: 127 points.
1976-77: 60-8-12: 132 points.
1977-78: 59-10-11: 129 points.
1978-79: 52-17-11: 115 points.

Boy, they really fell off that last year, eh? Absolutely unbelievable.

I can remember Bob Miller at the time just couldn't believe any team can go a whole season with only 8 losses. 60 wins!
