We're just standing around in our own zone now.

Once again, I love how quick Lehtonen is to smother anything floating around in his crease.

Yet we heard about Ribeiro.

You allege there's a double standard. It's been reported Ribeiro missed a team meeting and was scratched/suspended for one game. You can't point to any other occurrence where a Stars player missed a team meeting without getting suspended.

So how is that a double standard? Where is the double standard?

Skipped, missed, whatever. Both words carry the same meaning.

maybe Ott better skate around with Auger before the next time Dallas plays with him reffing?

Wow. Robidas saves a goal followed up by Ott.

Bonino (sp?) is killing us.

Ott and Robidas havin good periods defensively.

We've been completely invisible in their zone.

Not a bad period, but definantly not a good period. An okay period.

Kari again keeps them in the game.

Granted there was a couple of good defensive plays that would've been goals had they not been made, and he wasn't overly peppered...but he was solid and kept them from being down 1-0 or more like they probably should've been.

I thought it was worse than okay from a Stars standpoint. In my opinion, Dallas is lucky not to be down by a goal or two at this point.

Because it would be impossible to know!

No, not at all. Skipped implies intent. Miss implies accident.

And I'll go ahead and second your opinion on Lehtonen being the key difference in the period.

Lehtonen has completely blown away my expectations thus far, though they weren't high at all to start with.

Yeah I thought he was just some big "shot blocking" style goaltender like Giguere but he's really athletic and has quick reactions to catch some of these pucks out of the scrums in front of the net.

The best thing Dallas can do for their chances next year is to re-sign this guy ASAP and find some big defenceman that can clear the net / rebounds to make his job as easy as possible. That's the one way you're going to consistently beat him - when he gets out of position while scrambling.

Ah, but even though you don't know of any 'missed' practice by another player without consequence, you're ready to pounce upon this as being a double standard. There would have to be a different set of rules for different players for this to be, but as far as we know, there isn't.

You and I might disagree on whether Ribeiro should have been suspended for a game or not, or whether skipping and missing are synonyms (they are, and my intent was not in the negative form either), but you went too far in trying to argue there's a double standard. You can't prove there is so don't make the accusation. I fully understand you don't like Crawford, I don't either, but this is just too much.

Lastly, are you sure we wouldn't have heard anything about a player missing a team meeting without consequence? While the Stars are not the Cowboys, but we certainly hear about every single action and inaction taken on the team by all players, including a handful who have missed team meetings and not gone punished. Also note that we don't know what led up to him 'missing' the meeting. It might be more than just losing track of time, but hopefully it isn't.
