Pipe Dream Thread!

I love how frequently the term "pipe dream" is used on HF!!

Got me inspired... so I figured their might as well be a thread for it!

.................................................. ..........................................

I was contemplating explaining each and every move...

but i figured I would leave that to your imagination for now just to make this thread a little more intriguing!

soo ill let it go for a day or two then revisit the thread to explain myself

N.Kulemin T. Bozak P.Kessel

I love that you put Kadri on the 2nd line and Hodgson on the 3rd. Looking forward to a Nucks fan seeing that.

Trying to figure out how we got both Ryan and Hodgson using Kaberle and Schenn

Who cares what nucks fans think. They are pretty comparable prospects--- hodgson has already shown he is injury prone.

Interesting thread, however you should maybe make your trades clear instead of just throwing out your roster like that.

My first pipe dream: Ilya Kovalchuk for 7 mil per. (yes I know Leafs are not remotely interested, hence pipe dream)

My second pipe dream: Brad Richards + Brunnstrom FOR Kaberle, Mitchell, Lundmark + Jesse Blacker

This one is more of a pipe dream in that I would love for it to happen, and to me it actually feels like a pretty fair deal that could be made in the off season.

:O

My pipe dream is also a Kaberle for Brad Richards deal. They both have one year left and I can't see Richards signing there anyway... add a few pieces here or there and I think it can turn into more than a 'pipe dream'.

If Hodgson and Kadri were ever on the same team, Hodgson would center the second like and Kadri would center the third. Kadri is more aggressive with his body and is better suited to a third line role than Hodgson.

New CBA results in NO salary Cap but a Luxury Tax similar to Major League Baseball. After all, we are the Yankees of the NHL. A pipe dream for sure.

Personally I think Jesse Blacker has a brighter future on the leafs then Luke Schenn... and with the ridicules amount of high potential D-Men Burke has stocked up on theirs no doubting that Schenn is expendable if the right deal is made... the ducks do seem like a solid trading partner.

Every line is now balanced with offensive upside and their is potential for all three four lines to compete every night for the lead in +/-!!! This competition will be what drives ice time... the better you play the more ice time you shall receive should be the philosophy.

In a way all four lines are fairly repetitive in terms of their make-up... but I belive this is what makes them an absolute match-up nightmare! Imagine versing what is basically our 1st line for the entire game. Young, hungry, fast, skilled, passionate is what would define this team.

I also feel Stefanovich if given a chance in the NHL could thrive... give him a challenge... personally i think hes frustrated because hes not being challenged enough but thats just me...

Exelby is cheap... willing to play balls to the wall if asked to do so... and is willing to play low minutes without any btching... he gets spit on all the time around here but i think hes a very good role player.

Hanson is wayy better then he is being allowed to be... I have a hunch Burke is feeding Mitchell minutes to artificially boost his trade value. If Hanson gets some NHL players on his line we can see what hes really made out of.

M.Zuccarello-Aasen-> Burke works his magic! Promises ice time and respect. With his recent success this one is an easy win.

Good on ya, i like true die hards who are not afraid to voice thier opinion and i luv threads that make you imagine....

First off i can see your train of thought but there are some holes in your plan. NO COLTON ORR? Burkie isn't parting without a fighter NO WAY! Exelby will never play here again! Mikus should get a closer look as our 7th D. Caputi and Stefanovic wont be on the team if they dont crack the top 3 lines! Zuccarello-Aasen is a decent prospect but imo we have plaenty of young 2nd-3rd line prospects. The trades look good but we would have to sweeten the B.Ryan deal to Schenn+Grabo+2 Prospects(Paridis,Hayes,Stefanovic,DiDomenico). I like the Hodgson deal but i think we could a 2nd rd pick as well. I really like Blacker but most likely BB will get a Vet($1-1.5M) to play with Aulie next year and send Blacker to the minors to develop and bulk up.

N.Kulemin T. Bozak P.Kessel
V.Stalberg C.Hodgson B.Ryan
L.Caputi N. Kadri M.Stefanovich
C.Orr C.Hanson F.Sjostrom
J. Rosehill

D. Phaneuf M. Komisarek
C.Gunnarsson F.Beauchemin
K.Aulie (Boynton,Lebda,Brookbank,Leopold)
