It's more like the offense and special teams that's been playing like they are 50. I'm not saying Quick played well but to say he's been playing that bad is off base imo.
I could sort of tell that Quick needed a rest...or SOMETHING to spark better play from him... I know he can do better than this... He's actually done it... Just a little more consistency is all I'm asking for...and perhaps a few less deflections off our guys into our net...
Besides...I fought hard NOT to make that comment...but that line just laid there waiting for me...and the temptation got the better of me...
Hey!!! At least that broken down horse and buggy that's usually given out gets SOME use out of it...and has a million times more value than this pile of ****... All we get here is a sissified doormat...
The fact this conversation exists between Bernier and Quick amongst fans is the exact reason why both were not on the same team this year.
I wanted a Bernier Ersberg tandem and after camp a case could have been made for either tandem, however, quick bernier was never an option. No goaltender stole the reigns whatsoever.
Bernier without a doubt is the better goaltender and has the highest end product value. Quick has gotten a lot of credit and gained his personal value by a lboat load this year but he will never be in the long term plans of the Kings and in fact with the contract he signed earlier this year he makes himself very valuable.
I credit Quick with setting "team records" however his statistics far from warrant his play time. He has done admirably with his opportunity and lately he has been showing cracks in his "apparent" armor.
I am unsure what will happen after Vancouver however, a Bernier Victory and a Quick loss, i think the writing is on the wall. Vancouver is a great team.
My thoughts on the teams strategy is as it goes to goalies.... "We are supposed to lose against Vancouver, let's play Bernier". If Quick played Vancouver and lost the Bernier Birds would be squeaking ever so loudly. They (coaches)are trying to get it back to Quick(With justification), but in fact if Bernier wins and Quick loses. Quick is done. Coaches will look at the record and say, "hey you had your chance and we are going with the hot hand"
I am sure many think i am crazy but what if what i said happens....?
