If you want to say that it makes it less "special" then fine, I'll buy that.

But to say that its meaningless is just going too far. There are a bunch of guys who have used some sort of PED in the last 20-30 years who haven't sniffed 600 hrs.

It is meaningless. 500 HRs used to mean something, now it doesn't.

Mets season basically on the line tonight. A win and they can breathe another day or a loss and they fall 7.5 back and keep sinking. I know people will say they can come back from 7.5 down with a little less then 2 months to play left but it doesn't look likely considering they can't win on the road and keep sinking. Tonight's a big statement game.

Thats your opinion and thats fine, but its not like a bunch of people have broken the 500 HR plateau with PED's.

It doesn't matter. It's completely meaningless.

Great retort, you've got me convinced

Less meaningful? Fair, at least for the time being.

Completely meaningless? Thats laughable.

A-Rod's 600 Home runs is definitely tainted on some level.

Its a shame too. He's the type of talent that didn't need it.

That being said, I was happy to see the Yankees get back on track with a nice win today.

I'm glad it's meaningless to you. Doesn't mean it's meaningless to others... including arod.

I have to laugh though when people argue about morality on online forums though. I'm sure all you guys are straight-edge and have never done a regrettable thing in your life. Nope never.

I'm not going to give arod as much credit as someone like Griffy who was never accused of using PED's, but you have to give some credit. Or at least realize that it's a rare feat... steroids or not.

I'm with ya on this one. While I do think that it's slightly less meaningful to hit 500 or 600 these days because of obvious reasons I dont understand how people can say it's completely meaningless.

Yes his 600 is tainted (so are lots of other numbers), no one will deny that but it isn't meaningless.

Dont go to extremes now. A-Rod juiced and lied about it - that's it, he was never covering anything up, he simply replied 'no' when people would ask him if he was a user. So did everyone else. I dont remember 1 single player coming out admitting steroid use until after they got caught one way or another. When A-Rod got caught he came out almost right away and admitted use and apologized (I dont buy his apology).

Roger Clemens was the guy who kept on lying after getting caught out. I dont see what the difference is between A-Rod and Pettitte. Andy got caught using, he went out and admitted it. That's pretty much what A-Rod did as well.

Hey, me and my buddies are planning to go watch a Yankees game in september. I would like to know since we are little tight on money, which seats gives you the better view / best fan experience between those: bleachers 202-203 or the grandstands behind the home plate? We found some tickets around 50$ and we don't want to pay really more than that. I know I may sound anoying but if someone could just give me a hint that would be appreciated.

Thx

+ gongrats to A-Rod

Are those bleacher sections in left or right field?

I can tell you that as far as game experience goes, you can't top what you'll get sitting in the right field bleachers.

Lucas Duda just continues to hit great in AAA.

.311/.370/.653

1.022 OPS

I was never expecting much out of him, but he's turned it on this year.

Captain Kirk went 1-4 (with a double and a walk) in his debut in AAA as well.

Hopefully Cora is done. He is the worst player in baseball.

Shocked that Duda wasn't called up, though.

The best move the Mets made all year was releasing Cora. How sad.

I want to see Captain Kirk get a September call-up.

I don't. He's not ready. Evans and Duda deserve it much more than he does. You need to reward who's playing well, IMO.

Kirk went 0-5 with 3 Ks last game. His plate discipline is terrible.

his discipline isn't terrible... it isn't average yet either... but he did make some real big strides this year which is the most important part. But your right he isn't ready yet. Duda isn't ready yet either. He has horrible lefty/righty splits. Basically if he got called up he could only be a platoon player.

By the way. Apparently the mets also placed Castillo, Perez, Hessman, J. Feliciano on waivers today.

If anybody should have gotten called up it should have been Evans.

Talking about Callups, Ratliff needs to go to AAA, and both Ceciliani and Vaughn need to go to at least Low A immediately.

So guys who are waived are: Cora (released), Castillo, Perez, Frenchy, Hessman (WTF? why would you waive him?), Feliciano.

Every player on every team gets waived just about, not just the bad ones.

Last year the Yankees waived Cano, but they had absolutely no intention of trading him.

Albert Pujols, Joe Mauer, Ryan Braun... all were waived at one point.

Yep, basically everyone is placed on waivers at some point or another for if no other reason than to just judge interest around the league.

And while Ceciliani and Vaughn should be in low A, they won't be moved this year. They wanna win in Brooklyn and they have the best team in the league. They aren't promoting them. They'll start next year in St. Lucie.

Also, those two are absolute monsters. I've been to 7 Cyclone games and they just tear the cover off the ball.
