Demitra makes an emergency flight to LA!!!

According to Tom Larscheid the Canucks have placed a call to get Demo into LA asap. Demo apparently caught a flight early this morning to be with the team..

The reason, Daniel Sedin's back is worse than feared, he is having back spasms. Look for Sedin to be out about 3 games. Samuelsson is also almost close to being ready with the projection that he will play Sunday against Phoenix. Bernier is very close as well.

Hopefully this doesnt slow Hank down in his pursuit for the ART Ross.

I also wouldnt worry soo much with Daniel's back, Henrik was having the same problem about 60 games into the season before the olympics and now Hank feels great, Daniel (with his injuries) is reaching that same 60 game mark. Twins power!

p.s. this is not an April Fools Joke

Daniel apparently has back spasms, I heard it on team 1040.

Demitra is going to fly to L.A.

I wish this was an April fools joke but Blake Price seemed serious on team 1040.

It's about staying ahead of Ovechkin who could easily have a 5-6 point night all of a sudden. Unless Hank can push a 5-6 point lead in the next few games I doubt he'll win it, and he only averages around a PPG without Daniel.

Zomg!

hmmm ... what day is it, folks?

everything should have stopped ~12 noon.

Yeah, Daniel sure looked like he had back problems in that last game.

Maybe he injured himself picking up a cracker off the floor of the charter flight?

I'm not buying it yet. It doesn't make sense to me that they're calling Demitra back early to be with the team when they could just call someone up from the minors. We're comfortably in a playoff spot and we don't need Demitra back early.

Though it doesn't sound like a joke or else they would have said Daniel would be out the rest of the season plus the playoffs, but it still sounds a bit fishy.

What the hell is that? Hansen just gets thrown at centre? Wellwood on the top line?

I'd like to see:

Raymond - H. Sedin - Burrows
Hansen - Kesler - Grabner
Glass - Wellwood - Rypien
Hordichuk - Johnson - Baumgartner

But lets pray Demitra makes it and Daniel isn't out long. Of course this is the day to doubt everything. Should have banned the April Fools threads!

Vancouver is closer to LA than Manitoba is to LA...just in case you didnt know...

and why call someone up to play 4th line? Baumgartner is not a bad option..its not like the 4th line scores anyway

A patient playmaker like Wellwood (who's also been playing well lately) makes more sense with Henrik than a player who likes to hang on to the puck and often passes to the point.

Also, Raymond has shown to be a bad fit with either Sedin.

Not to mention breaking up Kes and Raymond.

YMMV.

No, they don't need scoring, plus a defenseman on the fourth could help the lines +/-.

Looks to me as though Henrik is the injured one and Daniel will be wearing his jersey to try and win the Art Ross.

hmmm Daniel not at practice seems like a likely excuse to fabricate an April Fool's Day joke.

I can see it now .... "Daniel needs a maintenance day, what day is it tomorrow? let me call my fellow newspaper hacks and get this fan base all riled up."

Let's not forget that Team 1040 arranged a call with Pavel Bure last year to announce his coming out of retirement to suit up again for the Canucks. And you suckers all bought it.

This just doesn't seem severe enough to be an April Fools Day joke. Noone is saying Daniel Sedin is out for the entire season. How is "Daniel is having back spasms" a hilarious gotcha April Fools Day story?

It is being reported by Jason Botchford and Dan Murphy as well.
