Bernier back to Manchester

Per Jeff Marek of HNIC

Does not make sense. All he did was win.

Perfectly sensible. Not only for his continued development - but damn the 'Narchs need him.

They need him for the playoffs. Just like how we need Quick.

Terry Murray said it a couple days ago.

The Kings don't need three goalies and they don't need Bernier sitting the bench behind Quick. Nor do they need Quick sitting the bench behind Bernier. They both need to be playing and with Bernier in Manchester, they are.

Oh, and ...

Right move to make.

It just be a matter a few game when Bernier has a bad game and every king fans throws him under the buss and calls for Murray or Lombardi to be fired for ever bringing up a young goalie during the playoff stretch.

And we all know that's what would happen. Berner is gonna split the duty with Quick next season, but no reason to tear up the plan right now. Bernier is ready but Quick is the #1 goalie right now.

this was a given, especially after his semi-shakey performance last night.

They have gotten to where they are with Quick, not Bernier. They don't have a spot on the roster for him anymore so he goes back to where he came from. He can try and make the big club next year.

I know you're a Monarchs homer, but if Manchester wins and L.A. loses then the whole thing is a bust.

The Kings don't need three goalies... you are correct. However, Ersberg should not be one of the two goalies L.A. has.

... "Winning" and this franchise are not two things that usually go together.

It's a stupid decision, but rest assured this team will pay for it.

Oh well -- what can we as fans do? This team will take winning seriously one day, they'll learn to respect streaks when they come; let's hope I'm alive to see it.

And if "shaky" is giving up 3 to a team like Vancouver including one soft one, then Quick is the San Andreas Fault.

Yeah, thanks for the lesson. I thought I might go the whole season without one. And you forgot the headshake.

Although it was entirely expected, I can not help but feel for JB. I know he has developed the mental toughness to deal with the ups and downs of becoming an NHL goalie, but at 3-0, he may be scratching his head.

Nevertheless, he'll get time in pressure situations with the 'narchs playoff run, and if Quick falters, I imagine Ersberg's back will, once again, get mysteriously sore requiring an emergency call up.

In either event, lets hope the Kings are going far enough in these playoffs on the strength of the goalie that brought us this far already.

An in case no has said it yet, THANK YOU JB, you were just what we needed when we needed it most!

Exactly.

The Kings have no faith in Ersberg. "Oh, but Manchester needs Bernier to win because Zatkoff sucks"

"Damn the Kings! Manchester's gotta win it all!"

I feel like some of you would send Doughty to Manchester at this point if you could.

Kings Hockey, baby. Send down the best tender we have only to let some SIV start the rest of the way.

In fairness, Quick is not a sieve (not until the last handful of games he played at least).

My issue is more about the decision to activate Ersberg from the injured list rather than keep Bernier on the Kings.
