Former Hab, and good friend of Mike Komisarek's, Chris Higgins has signed a 4 year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs worth 6 million $ (annual cap-hit of 1.5$). Chris gives the Maple Leafs depth at the wing at a very friendly cap hit. The former Hab will look to rejuvenate his career in Toronto, which we believe he is capable of doing.
Deal is confirmed

Chris Drury is a Maple Leaf

The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded center, Mikhail Grabovski along with prospects, Keith Aulie, Mikhail Stefanovich & a conditional pick (Tor 7th if Stef plays 20+ NHL games in 2011, Tor 4th if he doesn't) to the New York Rangers. In return the Maple Leafs have acquired veteran center, Chris Drury along with prospects, Chris Kreider & Bobby Sanguinetti.

In other news:
Toronto Maple Leafs have signed overseas UFA, Mats Zuccarello Aasen

The deal is for 2 years to the tune of 1.7 million dollars annually. The 22 y/o "Norwegian Hobbit" led the Swedish Elite League in scoring in 2009/10. A bit undersized, the shifty winger uses a long stick to achieve his results. In Toronto, he has ability to achieve fame and fortune playing for a world-class organization.

The New York Rangers are proud to announce the signing of Mike Comrie to a 2 year 1.5 mill per year contract. A total of 3 mill over 2 years.

We cannot wait to see Mike lace em up in the Big Apple. We are certain he will regain form. He and Callahan will mesh. We expect Ryan to create space & time for Comrie. This is a great fit for our club.

Deal confirmed.

Both Patrick Marleau and Alexander Frolov remain very much in play. Both players have received several offers, but are still waiting for the right opportunity.

The New York Rangers have chosen not to resign Enver Lisin. He is now a UFA.

Islanders & Volchenkov Agree To Deal

The NY have signed defensemen Anton Volchenkov to a 3 year 21 million dollar contract. He will be paired on the 1st line with Mark Streit and we look forward to his leadership on the ice and his great play.

Islanders Sign Thomas Plakanek

The NYI have signed center Thomas Plakanec to a 4 year 26 million dollar deal. He will be centering the second line with Bailey and Moulson on the wings and this should be an explosive line all year and we look forward to his leadership and play with the 2 young up and coming wingers.

The New York Rangers have aquired Russian big forward Alexander Frolov. Rumors out of New York suggest they are no longer in the Plekanec sweepstakes, although this is not confirmed yet. The team looks for Frolov to be a key part of the offense.

Frolov will be making:
2010-2011 - 5.5million
2011-2012- 5.3 million
2012-2013-3.8mill
2013-20-14- 3.8 mill

Totaling 18.4 million w a cap hit of: 4.6 mill.

accepted

Anton will finally enjoy his payday for all the work he has done with the Sens. Hes also excited to join the youth movement with the Islanders and cant wait to play with Streit.

Thomas' is extremely happy to join the Islanders, and cant wait for the opportunity to play with young-star John Tavares. After a breakout year with the Canadiens' Thomas would like to help the Islanders get back into playoffs and compete for the Stanley Cup.

The Rangers had offered:
"Zuccarello Aasen to a 2 yr 2.0 in 2010-2011 mill offer, and 2.8 in 2011-2012 totaling 4.8 mill over 2 years. The contract will include a no move clause and will be 1 way."

That was my offer for Aasen. I wonder if SonicY never saw his other messages and offers for Aasen. I hope it was just a case of Zucarello Aassen wanting to play for the leafs over the rangers. Either way it's done with and doesn't matter, I'm just curious is all.

Rick Nash is available for the right package. Looking to rebuild so any player on the roster is open to discussion although Steve Mason and Filatov will be very hard to aquire.

Agree to a 3 year deal with Joe Corvo!

Detroit Red Wings signed defenceman Joe Corvo to a three year deal.
The deal is worth $ 8,000,000 and is a one-way deal.
That gives a cap of $ 2,666,666 pr season.
