Impressive performance by the Habs. They had the Sabres retreating most of the night. The Sabres played like they had their minds somewhere else, on the playoffs. I'm not concerned about it. They'll get focused when the games really count. Right now it's just a matter of getting and staying healthy. Along those lines, I think Miller and Lalime should alternate the rest of the season.
O'Byrne must be Irish for lucky P.O.S. Falls, covers the puck in the crease, dislodging the net, no penalty or penalty shot. (But does give a very blatant elbow for which he gets whistled.) Scores a crappy goal on Miller, his first goal in 100 games.
BUF gave up 18 shots alone in the 1st pd.
BUF plays like tonight come playoff time, and they won't win against any team in the East, including NYI, CAR, & FLA.
I did not like Roy's game tonight, if that's what he's calling it. But hey, I'm not singling him out; most of the rest of the skaters were of comparable mediocrity tonight, or worse.
The powerplay. What to say? Too bad it can't be buried and rise again in 3 days.
I did like Monty tussling with Lapierre at the end. Gaustad was feisty too, but I liked Monty better.
What exactly did Miller say after the Leafs game? It's deja vu all over again...

Way to exceed my already low expectations, Sabres.
We're again seeing how important Connolly is to this team. The powerplay is pretty mediocre when he's in the lineup, but it's god awful without him. And EHP is obviously no HCP. I'd almost be tempted to swap Hecht and Ennis for a game just to get Hecht back on wing. Put Roys line out as the "shutdown" line if need be.
Missing Kaleta and Vanek obviously isn't helping. Those are 3 really important guys to be missing.
It'd be nice if these jackoffs could clinch the damn division so we can get Miller some real rest. That's the single biggest thing I worry about. He hasn't been stealing games for us on a regular basis like he did to start the season since January. He came out a bit refreshed after the Olympic break, but I still think the guy needs more rest before starting the grind of the playoffs. Who knows, maybe we win a round in 4 or 5 games while some other series go to 7, and he'll get a bit of a break there.
