Stopping On Inline Skates

How do you guys stop on inline skates? So far I have down:
I have been working on ice hockey style stops on rollerblades, but they seem more for style than practicality. Curious if I am missing anything...

Honestly, I don't think I"ve ever seen anyone stop the way they were showing in the videos.

IDK what your doing, but I"ve always stopped on skates or roller blades essentially the same way. Honestly, just learn that way. I"m pretty sure that that's how everybody stops anyways.

I use a hockey stop which is similar to the power slide from above, but I turn both legs. I can't do it at full speed yet but I practice it every practice session.... It's the most difficult thing in roller hockey, most beginners have their biggest problems with stoping, especially at full speed. I asked my mates and they showed my how to stop properly.

I have played inline on all surfaces for like 10 years. I played all the way up to the pro level and was paid to play. I powerslide pretty much how that video shows. Your lead leg does all the work and back leg just kind of anchors you. I have figured out how to stop with both skates but I learned how the OP's "Powerslides" video shows. It's VERY similar to stopping on ice you just disperse your weight differently (more toward your heels). Also, for anyone that thinks you can't "stop on a dime" in inline is wrong. If you can't then you a) aren't using proper technique or b) are using the wrong wheels for the surface you're on. Hope that sheds some light.

p.s. LarryO, don't put too much stock in to anyone doing anything on speedskates. It's a different ball game.
