Prust / Shelley - Keepers?

Both of these guys have contributed nicely, Prust especially... who do you want to see remain?

I've been a huge Prust fan since his first game here. Should definitely have a spot on our fourth line next year, maybe even our third. Shelley I'm more or less indifferent on, depends on the contract. You can get someone to fill his role for cheap but, with that said, if the contract is fine, then sign him up too.

Hell yea.

Both will be very cheap and both play very effective on the 4th line.

People forget Prust is just in his 2nd season in the NHL, so he is likely to get a little better as well. He is definitely a keeper.

Sure we could find another enforcer for Shelly, but do we really want to when we have something that works? We might end up with another Brasher

Keep Prust.

I'd rather lose Shelley and bring up Weise for 3rd/4th line duty.

Love Prust, he has to stay.

I'd like to keep Shelley on as well.

Shelley has been playing well, but I can see him sitting when Avery, Callahan and Boyle get back in the lineup.

Teams fear that line now, for the sake of getting crunched. It's working well.

Anisimov must feel like he's in heaven with that protection.

Prust definitely. Shelley maybe. I like the grit these guys bring. It's almost like we're no longer a soft team.

Ive been impressed with both of them, especially Prust. Both should come back next season. And as others have said its nice to have a legit 4th line.

As a Canucks fan I saw a lot of Prust. He was absolutely schooled a couple times early on by Rick Rypien, but kept coming back; to the point where more recently he was giving Rypien a run for his money. He'd be a good one to keep. I think he can still get better.

Both of these guys play a direct style of hockey. And opponents still have to be aware of them for other reason, it's not like they are goons. They like to pressure the opposition, they're not a bit shy.

All good teams have guys like this in the mix.

I don't want to get too far ahead and I like both however if they do keep both;

some other players like an Avery, Boyle, etc. have to go because....

...it will hold down the progress of Weise, Byers, and Dupont. Weise has a chance to score 30 goals this year. I think he should get a shot with the big club. He also has 5 SH goals so he can PK.

And I'd like to see Artem play more than 4th line next year. Love what he's doing with those two. The three of them click.

So I'm for it, as long as Avery and maybe Boyle are being moved, but a guy like Avery is nearly immovable.

Not a big fan of Boyle so wouldnt care if hes moved. I would like Avery to remain a Ranger however. Just stick him on 3rd line.

And yeah AA shouldnt be on 4th line next season.

Keep them both... this was the 4th line I was envisioning at the beginning of the year... a physical, in your face line that spends a decent amount of time in the offensive zone and can chip in a goal every now and then.

I know everyone liked Betts & Sjostrom, but they didn't intimidate anyone, nor did they drive to the net or outmuscle others for the puck. Shelley and Prust's physicality are part of the reason why their line is so successful. I don't think I've seen an offensive explosion like this on our 4th line in a long time.

Sign Prust for two years 1.5 mil and Shelley for 1 year .750 mil. I am really enjoying the Rangers 4th line. They look like they're better than our second and third right now.

A little off topic but our lines seem to be working really well right now. What are we supposed to do if Boyle, Avery, and Callahan return. It seems like we're playing better w/o them.

I hope that Anisimov is more than the 4th line C next season.
