I know forwards is the biggest concern, but I think it's important to get someone that can potentially replace Kaberle back. That's why IMO Washington makes a great trade partner since they've got Alzner and Carlson.
No guarantee that Kadri and/or Bozak will be ready next season, and there are lots of rumours that Grabovski is being shopped. Im really glad we have a young team, but we do need to bring in some veterans to help them.

Brendan Morrison wouldn't be a terrible pickup at all if he can come at the right price. He could play on our 3rd line (leaving Grabo and one of Bozak/Kadri for the top 2), to give us 3 lines that can score which will help deflect the fact that we don't have a number one centre. Plug Mitchell in on the 4th and the other of Kadri/Bozak for injuries and you're looking good.

Bertuzzi would be an interesting pickup. At a consistent 40+ points, he's definitely worth taking a chance on. As a winger, there seems to be some better options available. However, like Morrison, if Burke can get him on a reasonable cap hit for a 2 year deal (under $1.75million), then its the kind of thing that makes sense. He can play both wings and could be slotted into either a 2nd or 3rd line role. He would be an OK fit on the left side with Kulemin & one of Stalberg/Caputi and would also be a good fit on the right side behind Kessel, or you could make Sjostrom a 4th liner and PK specialist, and get a young guy to put on the 2nd line RW while Bertuzzi plays 3rd line.

If Lidstrom retires...

We trade Kaberle to Det for Filppula and Helm.

After that we'll trade Grabo for picks.
