Second thread in quick succession, I know, but I'd just like to get some thoughts on the game.
I think there's an absolutely awesome pace to the game and, as always, Flames fans are great. Looking for a big OT winner from Iggy tonight... that'd be great. Just so long as the Dead Things don't win, I'm happy. Especially considering there's a great Canadian team giving them the boot. If only Toronto could do the same and slaughter those damned Flyers...
Gélinas is a playoffs performer. I would love to see him playing for the habs. He always scores clutch goals.
I think that the Flames will go all the way this year. I only watch the 3rd period and the OT and they totally dominated the Wings. They are the most hardworking team so far in the playoffs with an amazing goaltender. They kinda remind me of the '93 Habs.
I said the Flames in six and defended them against the Wings fans on another forum (who were suggesting that the Flames would be swept, stating that the Wings' roster is better than the Flames' and that means they'll win, blah blah) and they called me an idiot and the like. Can't wait until the forum goes back up (yeah, www.GameFAQs.com forums, if any of you go there) so I can hear their excuses. "CuJo had something in his eyes!"
Just too bad my prediction of Habs in five didn't happen... blah.
Twice I've nailed Calgary's prediction right on, though. First it was Flames in seven, and now Flames in six. Too bad I think they'll get smoked by the Sharks if the Sharks can put Colorado away.
I believe Marty was offered more to go to the Habs but since his wife is from these parts, he decided to come to Cgy. Now, I live in Calgary and work for the Flames so I can say it's been pretty damn exciting. The place was a madhouse when they scored that goal last night. Now, no more Hab games to distract me during the pre-game. But I'm still a Habs fan and make no qualms about it. If I were a Leaf fan, there'd be more grief to deal with for sure from some people who are anti-Toronto like I am myself. Wow, Gelinas would have been great. I've heard Sutter would rather have a player more his own style than have Gelly, but it's getting harder to justify letting him go. If Sutter wants to, I'd swap Sundstrom (a Sutter favourite) for Gelinas straight up.
