Game 80 : Thrashers vs Devils - Do or Die

Thrashers vs Devils

VS

With the Thrashers Post-Season on life support after wins from Boston and Philli and New York. The Thrashers are in do or die mode. Needing to win the last three games of the season and hope for some help around the league. What a better place to start then with

The Return of Kovy

The Thrashers road continues with the Return of Kovy to Blueland, facing his former squad for the first time tonight. Along with Annsi Salmela, they are in tough with a Thrashers team who knows they are fighting for their lives.

Bergfors and Oduya

These two have a lot to show tonight against their former club. Both having a lot to show the Devils for trading them to Atlanta. Both have blossomed in Blueland, But will tonight be the night they both step up under the spotlight, when the whole countries eyes will be on ATL for Kovy's return?

BELIEVE IN BLUELAND

Maybe we don't make the playoffs, but at least beat Kovalchuk.

Nice job Ashe! Hope your trip down is a fruitful one. Expect low to mid 80's in temperature when you get here.

Expect a temperature around +30C/85F tomorrow. Also expect the ice to be really crappy (weird puck bounces, sloppy skating, etc) due to the warm weather. Hope you've got some shorts and short sleeve shirts, or you're going to be fairly uncomfortable.

What kind of reaction will Kovy get from the fans tomorrow? Will they cheer or boo?

The man served his time here, I think most in attendance will give him that.

More cheers than boos. Remember, there is usually a solid Devils contingent at these games.

It has been said before around here and I agree. Cheer for him before the puck drops. After it drops, he gets boo'd like any other opposing player.

I am actually keen to see kovy's reaction. We all know he like to celebrate his goals. I am keen to see if he does score whether he doesn't celebrate out of respect for his time in Atlanta.

I have a feeling the morons and d-bags will be out in force tonight....

I would also cheer. He is still one of my favorite players to watch.

I'll be there but anybody booing around me had best beware. I can't fault anybody for wanting out of this mess.

Since we played well the last two games and since they're home now, I expect the team will phone this one in. Should be an easy night for El Diablo.

THIS

but as far as calling out the boo'ers, they have every right to boo him...i will politely applaud him during introductions, but wont go overboard with the cheering.

i'm not mad at him for leaving, i just really dislike the way he talked about wanting to stay over and over and over and over and when presented with a hefty contract, he turned it down..at least be somewhat honest with your intentions throughout the process..he owed US that, so we dont owe him anything...this isn Gretzky returning to Edmonton or Bourque to Boston...0 playoff wins in 8 years. ho-hum. he did exactly what for us again on the ice?
