Better to be outside in 90 degree weather than inside with artificial lights and no idea how the weather is outside.
What section were you sitting in? It truly is a great stadium, I was awed when I first walked in. It was a good time.

Great for the twins coming up I think. Their bats should cause trouble. Hopefully their pitching holds up. Yankees are in the Twins head though.
They lead the league with LOB. So they're getting a lot of guys on, just not always getting them in. If everything goes well, we should run away with this division.

It doesn't. You are dreaming.

I was in 320, but spent the first half of the game wandering with stops in Hrbek's, behind home plate on the lower level and the batter's eye.

Yeah, I haven't been to the upper level yet, but I've gone to 2 games earlier in the year. I was sitting right behind home plate (not the super expensive ones, but the ones right behind it) and I sat 5 rows behind the Twins dugout. It was really cool seeing the field from every angle walking around. It's a great stadium for sure though, it's truly great though. I'm going to probably pick up some tickets maybe for later on in the year in the upper sections to see what it's like up there.

That's my goal as well as I continue to scour Stub Hub. You can't see everything in one trip and it's outdoor baseball in Minnesota.

Also, did anyone else get a little pissed off during tonight's broadcast when Jon Miller mentioned the Wild play at the Target Center arena in Minneapolis next door?

Lol, yeah well, ESPN doesn't know jack about the NHL. I was watching Around the Horn one time, and they asked a question about something in the NHL (I think it was Ovie's knee on knee?, I don't really remember) and they were all clueless in their responses. Melrose and Barnaby are better than nothing, mostly I watch NHL network or read online if I want good hockey news.

Yeah, it's truly a great stadium. I kind of want to be in the home run porch, I've only sat behind or around the plate, I'd like the see the game from a different view I think.

The Twins looked pretty good all weekend with 3 nice wins against the Rangers. They have a decent lineup, and our pen looked good last night. We'll see how it goes on this roadtrip as we always seem to have trouble against the Mariners. It will be an interesting road trip. Let's hope O-Hud is okay as he's been great in filling the void at 2B.

I'd like to hear what others think about a potential trade target for the Twins? Should we focus on SP, RP, or 3B? It's going to be a tough call. I think we'll bring in a reliever or two, and I hope that we make a run for a bona-fide #1 starter.

Bullet points:
-Trade targets in order: reliever, starter, 3B. Someone is going to need to step up out of the bullpen and that appears to be more likely from the outside. A #1 starter would be nice for a playoff run but that's a pretty big risk/reward. Finally, 3B can be fixed from within (Valencia) or just hope that Punto being the 9th hitter (preceded by eight good ones) with great defense is good enough.

-I'm a little sad that Griffey retired. It feels like a piece of my childhood died.

-Why do the Twins always have trouble putting together good games in Seattle and Oakland?

That was a good victory last night by the Twins, although the lack of production by the team besides Mauer-Morneau-Kubel-Young remains troubling.

Record: 32-23
Games Remaining: 107
Position in AL Central: 1st (3.5 GA)

Line-up doesn't get much worse than this right now:

Span
Tolbert
Mauer
Thome
Kubel
Young
Valencia
Harris
Punto

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. And of coarse Tolbert is batting second again.

It's hard to say, but I think I'd rather have Punto batting #2 than Tolbert, but they both are just utilitymen. All these injuries are horrible.

Mauer should be batting second. No excuse to have him not. I'd do something like this:

Span
Mauer
Kubel
Thome
Young
Valencia
Harris
Tolbert
Punto

Ya, it's gets gross at the end but hopefully you can do something at the top.

At least it's not a lineup where Ron Coomer is an all-star. That might be the saddest thing in baseball history. But either way, that ninth inning infield made up of the 4th string 1st baseman, Nick Punto, a guy with an injured wrist and a guy playing his third major league game scared the living **** out of me.

Hindsight is 20/20 but I'm glad Tolbert was batting in the two hole.

Ron Coomer doing post-games are what's funny. He is just a goon.

It's too bad we gave up that lead for Francisco as he pitched a pretty good game. He's looking pretty good, but I think we will need to add another pitcher of the starting variety if we want to go somewhere in the post-season.

I want to stab GB Leighton everytime I hear that abortion of sound called "Twins Territory."

He should get tarred and feathered for that piece of crap.

That Twins Territory song just makes me want to cry it's so horrible, I can't stand the song. It's good to see another Twins victory, but let's get Hardy and Hudson healthy and we should be able to pull away from the pack.

I have yet to hear someone say they like the Leighton noise. Time to go back to the old "we're gonna win Twins, we're gonna score...."

Here's hoping Hudson will be ready to go once he gets off the DL next week because they're going to need him in NL ballparks.

I was going to post the "We're gonna win Twins" song, but the only two versions on Youtube sucked. So in lieu of that,

Man the baseball draft is so weird, so they can draft high schoolers, but if they don't sign they can re-enter the draft and there's like 50 rounds?!?!? That makes it super hard to follow.

I think our first pick wasn't too bad, they say he's a "control" pitcher, but hey, it works...kind of? He had great numbers for Ohio State, but yeah, apparently he's the most polished.

We seem to keep taking outfielders, but hopefully we parlay that into some help elsewhere. We should be set at C and 1B for a while, but it's too bad that we can't find a 3B to save our lives.
