Game Suggestions for the Wii?

I just got a Wii and of course the only game I have is Wii Sports. Not to bad but I'd like to branch out and get some more games obviously. They don't really have to be 100% motion, but I do find those are the coolest.

Has anyone played NHL 2k10?

2K10 isn't really good. 2K11 is a Wii exclusive and will focus more on motion development and EA Sports is releasing NHL 11 on the Wii this year as well. Wait for those.

Wii Sports Resort and the Motion Plus addition is a required add IMO. More sports, more depth, better motion controls.

After that:

Super Mario Galaxy
New Super Mario Brothers
Red Steel 2 (not 1, games are not related)
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10
Punchout!!

The Wii has a nice collection of games if you look through the crap and minigames. http://www.metacritic.com/games/wii/ is a good place to start

NBA Jam for the Wii is coming out sometime this year too. A remake from EA of the original arcade game. Should be a doozy.

Can someone shed a bit more light on Super Mario Galaxy? I have the new SMB and have played Mario games in the past but never a 3d adventure. What should I expect? I've heard many good things about Galaxy.

Also:

Okami (if you haven't played it already on PS2)
Wii Sports Resort
Mario Strikers Charged (I've found this to be ridiculously fun as a 2 player game)

WiiWare (downloadable games):

World of Goo
Swords and Soldiers
MegaMan 9
Contra: Rebirth
Dr. Mario Online Rx

You missed one of my favorite WiiWare games: Bit.Trip Beat. Best $6 I've ever spent.

I'd also like to add that while the previously mentioned Zack & Wiki looks like a child's game, it is anything but. It is actually a very challenging and clever point and click puzzle game. Seriously, even adults will have trouble getting through the game without using the hints or looking up a guide.

Trauma Center: New Blood is another one of my favorites and it should be very cheap (I bought it for $10 new from Toys R Us several months ago when they were clearing out their stock).

Oh, I forgot deBlob.

Good game. Plus I got it on a discount rack for only $20, so it was a good deal.

My only complaint about that game is that there is no save checkpoints or any way to save your progress until you complete each level. And each level took me on average between 40-60 minutes. So you have to make sure you have that much time to devote to each sitting.

Same here. Discount rack and 40-60 minutes per level. I can work around the lack of save points but I got the kid interested in it and it becomes a problem fast when trying to get him to bed and to get his level finished. Considering the time invested, I can understand why he isn't necessarily thrilled with having to quit and go to bed...heh. Would love to see a deBlob sequel with that one glaring problem fixed.

Disorienting. It's fun and addictive, like nearly any Mario game, but getting accustomed to the shifting perspective/direction can take some time. It's also something Nintendo is clearly aware of and screws with throughout the game though not in an annoying way-it helps keep it fun and challanging while providing visuals that are simultaneously at home in a Mario game while also being very new. With Galaxy2 coming out, I would expect Galaxy's price to drop. Got mine used for $25.

I also hear real good things about Excitebots Trick Racing.
