I'm pretty sure they tried Duchene on the point earlier in the year and it didn't work at all. Just like having Wolski there didn't work. Neither did Hejduk or Stewart. Only forward that has played well back there is Mueller.
Duchenes has great vision and if i recall he did play thepoint on the PP in juniors so hes not unfamiliar with it but the biggest thing here is hes not a liability meaning if the puck gets by him, with his speed, hes still able to get back on defense. Mueller not being as fleet of foot as Matt was always a gamble on the point albeit a good gamble but if the opposition got by him chances are theres an odd man rush goin the other way

To be honest, I never even notice that the guy is on the ice anymore until I look at the line-ups afterward and see that he gets a few minutes

He is the least noticeable player in hockey history nowadays probably

Maybe we can get Sneaky Pete Turgeon to lace 'em up to play with Svatos, then we'd be golden.

As long as you could get Arnie to play out of position on the wing, then we'd be truly golden.

No way, Turgeon + Svatos = Goal. 2005-2006 season Turgeon had 30 assists and Svatos had 32 goals, I think Svatos scored on every one of those assists.

Yeah, but the only other player Svatos ever produced with was Arnason. Remember, he was our leading scorer in I believe 07-08 until he went down with another injury. And that was because of Arnason.

Ehrhoff and Johnson are out for the Canucks... O'Brien and Bernier in.

Sedin- Sedin- Burrows
Grabner- Kesler- Demitra
Raymond- Wellwood- Samuelsson
Hansen- Rypien- Bernier

SALO - O'BRIEN
ALBERTS - EDLER
BIEKSA - ROME

Luongo

Not having Ehrhoff is going to suck hard, are d is so slow without him in.

Man I just realized I've completely given up on Svatos.

Can we get some... like... Vrbata-ish trade value out of him maybe?
(ie. trade for someone to trade for Konowalchuk II?)

Is that true for those of us watching via Center Ice? I briefly looked at the guide and didn't see the game listed. I'd prefer not having to go to someone else's house to watch Versus.

hahaha. No. They would have had to do that in 2007. Svatos is a UFA at the end of this season. Avs will "lose" him for nothing.

Well, according to this site:

http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Western2.html

the AVS have a 92.6% chance of making the playoffs. The Flames have 6.5% chance.

With those numbes you would have to think TSN is wrong and biased.

Obviously the numbers say other things, and everyone knows we have a greater chance. But you can still look at the last few games, and the Flames do look like they're charging to the Playoffs, and we do look like we're clinging on for dear life.

I know gamecenter never shows the versus/nhl network (us) games, I'm guessing center ice is the same way

This is the last game I get to watch in the regular season. Hopefully next year I get center ice. Sometimes it sucks to be Canadian.

I'd rather have Matt down low, and Yip at the point with his shot. Both played it in Junior/College, so at least they have some experience.

Not having Mueller in there leaves a huge hole. He's basically the only guy scoring consistently for this team right now. Time for Stewart to come out of his slump and get a couple, and for Yip to get back in the scoring column.

I'm pretty sure CI doesn't show nationally televised Versus games.

Hopefully Versus doesn't use the ALT feed, we don't need Mike and Peter making fools of themselves on national TV.
