Rolston's not going anywhere - when are people going to accept this and move on?

Next up - White & Pandolfo trade proposals

Put me in the camp that disagrees with the above.

Teams do many things in secret (especially the Devils). The Devils have a long history of keeping things inside the locker room so that players arent publicly embarrassed. IMO, Langs got benched. He had been playing like crap, it only makes sense.

But Lemaire has been resting other players too. Martin and Mottau haven't been terrible, but they've also gotten nights off. I don't think Langenbrunner is upset about being rested, unless it was really a benching that Lemaire passed off as a rest.

In that case, Jamie needs to get over it, and get productive. This is the time of year we need his clutch heroics, and it won't do us any good if he is moping.

If it's a personal issue, then there's not much to be done about it. It's his business.

Then why was Martin out the same game? Why was Mottau out last game?

Martin was out because he had a "tight" back!

If Gomez got moved, anything can happen. I know that some of you think that he's a waste of a human life but he can actually be a pretty decent asset for a team that needs to get above the cap floor and have a veteran prescence.

I'm certain that if he finds a team that can give him a top 6 role, he'll thrive but with all the depth we have, he's a waste on our 3rd line cause he's not getting the minutes he wants IMO. Put him in the spotlight on a 1st line on a "average" team and I can see him racking up 25 goals and 30 assists.

He's glidding cause he knows that he's not the go-to-guy and even if he's the worst player on the ice for both teams, his play won't impact the outcome of the game cause we have about 7 other guys that can step up and contribute. He'll be downgraded to the 4th line, like yesterday, and will collect his paycheck regardless.

If Gomez got moved?! He was a free agent... he walked away.

I think he meant if the Rangers were able to trade Gomez and his high contract...

No trade clauses are not that stiff. In reality if Lou wants Rolston gone, Rolston will be gone. Rolston will give Lou a list of 10 teams he won't go to and they go from there.

I know. I was responding to the idea of him going to the Flames. Rolston wouldn't want to do that, and besides Regehr (who they won't trade), there isn't really anybody I want from them in return.

Supposedly Mottau was rested. It makes sense, he's played a ton of minutes. Supposedly Martin has a minor health issue. They're also defensemen, which are more commonly in need of rest.

But "resting" Rolston and Langs? Two guys that havent been producing or playing well. Doesnt pass my smell test. Plus you had those odd Kovy comments last night about "WE want to get him (Langs) going" when asked by Stan why he passed to Langs a few times when he could have shot.

And it's not like either Rolston or Langs were getting outrageous minutes anyway. If you really want to rest them, let them bail on practices more often.

Rene Bourque!!! But yea, Rolston isn't going to Calgary... and the Flames just signed a contract extension with Bourque anyhow.

I like Rene Bourque, but I don't think they'd trade him. I think Clarkson will be as good as him anyway. And Clarkson is (and will be) cheaper.

Clarkson is tougher, Bourque has a better finishing touch. Similar players, though.

Agreed, Calgary doesn't give him up.

It's simple.

Gomez was horrible at his contract. If there was a market for that, then there's a market for anything.

Gomez didn't have an NTC, Rolston does. I know it doesn't make a huge difference, but it does matter. We can't just dump him off on a struggling team trying to make the salary floor. Immediately that lowers the chance of us being able to trade him.

Gomez had a limited NTC he gave sather a small list of 7 teams he wouldn't go to

Exactly. Lou will have to approach The Winker and ask for a list of teams he would like to play for, which likely wouldnt involve poorer teams with a ton of cap room.

It also puts the trading partner in even more of a position of strength. I still hold out hopes Rolston can me Malakov'd, but it's more up to Winkey than anything.

In a related positive, it's clear that Pando has been getting the "Brylin Treatment" the last few weeks in an effort to make him want to go elsewhere.

It still wasn't as restrictive as Rolston's. I think Lou probably can get him to waive it, but we'll see. A lot of unlikely factors have to come together for us to move him.

Just a little "inside info"...Pando's shoulder is still hurt and he's really not healthy..gonna have surgery at the end of the year..he can play through the pain but he's not close to 100%..

I think it IS a personal issue involving his family, IMO. Hopefully he can at least put all of his focus(and anger) toward our upcoming opponents and vent(without drawing penalties, of course...lol)

It wouldn't surprise me if Pandolfo is still dealing with the effects of his injury. He hasn't been the same since.

In that case, we may be able to LTIR him.
