Yeah, but 6th is a hell of a lot better than 8th. We can take Buffalo.

Halak needs to be better in the shootout tonight.

Also, Cammalleri is horrible lately. Like, really really bad.

Halak has played great the majority of the season, but that third goal on him and he didn't show up when they needed him in the shootout.
Atleast the Rangers lost and the Habs are pretty much in at this point.

There's no denying he made some key saves. But he did **** the bed in the shootout.

Practically the entire team **** the bed tonight.

That was truly embarassing.

I guarantee somehow it'll come down to the 82nd game against the Leafs and we'll crap the bed (again).
I'll bet you it doesn't.

Carolina and Toronto aren't going to do us any favours, we needed that extra point.

One important point in bank, though, no?

We are still at sixth, 87 points. We need one point in the remaining four to clinch it... let's do it against the Canes thursday!

You said it before about AK, and I have to ask if you're blind? Outside of the awful penalty in OT he was clearly the Habs' best forward IMO.

The Islanders looked more like the team fighting for a playoff spot.

Wow did someone convince the team that Price was playing in the last two minutes and OT?

The guys just gave up.

Unbelievable.

That was awful. Shoulda had the 2 points, but chose to sit back in the third and let the Isles take it to them. Territorial advantage was dominated by NY in the 3rd period. With the point the Habs stay ahead of the Flyers for 6th spot with two games remaining. Atlanta and Rangers losing tonight helps, but if the Habs get the two points they clinch. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Something tells me Carolina and Toronto won't be cakewalks either.

To expand on what it would take :

1. Bruins pass us in the standings
2. Habs lose both remaining games in regulation
3. Flyers lose 1 out of 2 games in OT against the rangers
4. Rangers win all 3 games, and have to win in OT once against the flyers

Mind blowing scenario. I'd laugh at this point if it happened.

They got a point for playing 15 minutes. The hockey Gods are generous.

We have this horrible habit of trying to kill off one-goal leads in the third with pure defensive shell play, and far more often than not it hurts us. How many times do we have to fail at this before Martin and/or the team realizes that we should keep going for goals if the only lead we have in the third is an one or two goal lead?

Settle the fu-ck down we are in the playoffs by some virtue of a miraculous turnaround. Eat you Wheaties and do your math...
This was a point to help us though. The Rangers lost outright FFS.

Go to sleep and stop worrying.

I kind of disagree

us losing to the Canes and Leafs is sooooo possible and the Rangers beating philly twice isn't out of the question (or getting the split...whatever has to happen)
