Halak has played great the majority of the season, but that third goal on him and he didn't show up when they needed him in the shootout.
Atleast the Rangers lost and the Habs are pretty much in at this point.
That was awful. Shoulda had the 2 points, but chose to sit back in the third and let the Isles take it to them. Territorial advantage was dominated by NY in the 3rd period. With the point the Habs stay ahead of the Flyers for 6th spot with two games remaining. Atlanta and Rangers losing tonight helps, but if the Habs get the two points they clinch. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Something tells me Carolina and Toronto won't be cakewalks either.
1. Bruins pass us in the standings
2. Habs lose both remaining games in regulation
3. Flyers lose 1 out of 2 games in OT against the rangers
4. Rangers win all 3 games, and have to win in OT once against the flyers
Mind blowing scenario. I'd laugh at this point if it happened.
We have this horrible habit of trying to kill off one-goal leads in the third with pure defensive shell play, and far more often than notit hurts us. How many times do we have to fail at this before Martin and/or the team realizes that we should keep going for goals if the only lead we have in the third is an one or two goal lead?
