Someone in a Brodeur thread said something about save % being the most important goalie stat, which brought back memories of the "Luongo has a better save % therefore he's a better goalie!" posts when he was in Florida. Of course the problem with sv% that nobody ever mentions is that shots, and therefore saves, are a subjective stat, judged by a human being. Like hits or blocked shots, which people accept as flawed.
The Coyotes have an interesting match-up against the Predators tonight. Phoenix needs two points to clinch home ice for the first round. However, if they beat Nashville in regulation, they increase the probability of facing Detroit or LA in the first round. Nashville only has one game remaining after tonight at home vs. St. Louis. Phoenix has two games on the road in LA and SJ.
Some Yotes fans think a first-round win over the Wings in six/seven games would be great for the franchise and are pulling for that draw. Some want the Coyotes to win in OT to give the Preds a point, and would rather take their chances against Nash or the Kings. Some even want to give the Preds two points in regulation and try to get the two points in California.
